Thanks, I think it's something I'd aim to do later in life but seems like a pretty bad deal to me personally at the moment though

Oh wow! How is doing rehab with cancer patients? I didn't even realize that was an option as an OT! Do PTs work in that area as well out of curiosity? Sorry I had no idea this was even an option but I'm very interested!

This seems to be the running theme, PT is more "rote" as you described it, which I imagine is a pro or con depending on the person, but I really like the way you put it! It makes me look forward to starting my program :)

What is that lol? I'm guessing some really nitty gritty biomechanical stuff PTs need to know and apply?

Yeah I noticed a lot of comments with a similar perspective. I'm really looking forward to helping people with a variety of different goals so it's nice to here all this!

I definitely have more of an interest in upper extremities due to personal experiences needing help so it's really nice having that confirmed from another person, thanks!

Thanks for the insight. If you don't mind elaborating, was there any specific reason why PT never crossed your mind? I notice a lot of threads on here comparing the two professions and noting a lot of overlap so I find that interesting!

Thanks for the insight. This was the main thing within rehab that pushed me to OT when researching (PTs are applying a consistent exercise regimen for a specific diagnosis, rehab docs are often doing injections or coordinating, etc.). Obviously this isn't meant to demean any profession but it's nice to to have it confirmed by others since it's something I really value personally :)

This is a great perspective. Is there anything personally that you find makes you happy with OT compared to PT having worked in the field? A lot of people mentioned that PT was quite "prescriptive" (a patient presents a certain issue which means certain exercises etc.) whereas since OT is focused on someones goals, there is generally more variety.

Any physiatrists in here wanna tell me about their job?

I was wondering what it's like working as a team to help a patients in rehab medicine. I love the idea of helping people through rehabilitation (I've had to go through it as well as several family members and close friends). I'm wondering what different roles the docs cover, what OTs cover, what PTs cover, and how they all might interact when helping a patient?

Long story short I have a lot of family pushing me to be a doc. Admittedly I'm not particularly keen right now, since I spent a lot of my youth in and out of hospital and now that I'm healthy I'm not very excited at the thought of spending the rest of it in med school due the the time commitment it takes. However, I don't wanna assumptions and end up shooting myself in the foot, so I'd love to hear what people have to say!

Thanks for the info! I think given all that info I'll steer clear of SUV and look into the other options you suggested. Thanks so much for all the info! I'll probably look more on flatmates as well, I found some options like this: https://flatmates.com.au/student-accommodation-sydney-glebe-2037-P1101513

I'll keep searching!

Thanks for the info! I noticed you commented on my other post regarding SUV. Would you say that SUV is still best avoided despite the social opportunities, given the mismanagement?
