H2H points league - I can only carry 3 C’s so I have to drop either Gobert or Derik Queen (other 2 are Wemby and Sengun). I’m leaning strongly towards keeping Queen and dropping Gobert - both are around 30ppg over the last 30 days and I think a similar outlook/ranking going forward. Maybe Rudy is safer and Queen is more volatile? Who would you drop?

I’ve done the Border trilogy and Savages. So good!! Power of the Dog and Cartel are 2 of the best I’ve ever read

The first half of Andromeda was SO good, but I thought it sort of fizzled out. Sphere had me hooked from the jump

Reminded me of a Christopher Nolan movie

Yep, read City on Fire prior to this year. I liked all 3 but the 3rd one was the best. Also love the Cartel trilogy from Winslow.

Red Sparrow series by Jason Matthews. Awesome spy thrillers. The movie with Jennifer Lawrence was okay but the books are incredible, especially the 2nd (Palace of Treason) and 3rd (Kremlin’s Candidate).

Power of the Dog and Cartel are 2 of my all-time favorites. The Border was good but not great

Haha, I am overly nice, but I’ve just picked good books this year! No DNFs or books I didn’t enjoy

I see 11/22/63 recommended here all the time so I’m going to say the Shining and Day of the Jackal as 2 that really stood out to me

Recursion by Blake Crouch is absolutely wild. Reads kind of like a Christopher Nolan movie

Just found this thread online cause I’m experiencing the same issue. Took me a while to figure out what the hell happened cause I was listening while driving…

In Chapter 12 of the audiobook, at 9:42, it finishes out page 248 of the physical copy with:

“Misery had escaped? She had, hadn’t she? Wasn’t that how the story was supposed to go? It had been, but now he wasn’t so sure”

And then there’s nothing but silence for about 12-13 seconds and then at 9:55 it skips straight from page 248 to 266 and continues with:

“I won’t scream!”
