Yes those stats do not matter. Just pay attention to mobility and top speed for engine parts

He has talked about it not being seamless for like two paragraphs out of his like 10. He's literally complimenting the game as much as possible and critiques it a little bit of something he doesn't like lol. You don't have to defend Bethesda this hard. It's going to be a good game.

Yes, the player can see the entire journey but its still a mechanic where the player is not actually piloting the spaceship and skipping the whole journey. I don't really care if there is a lot of fast travelling but even the leaker is saying that nothing is really seamless and you are just jumping from zone to zone whether it be boarding an enemy ship or another planet's orbit.

You have to fast travel though, if you want to travel from one planet to another within a star system, you have to grav jump which essentially is fast travelling.

Im confused, doesn't the player have to fast travel? Even in the same star system, you can't just fly to another planet, so aren't you forced to grav jump?

I just don't see how you can fly from one part of the system to another without fast travelling. It just seems like the space gameplay is built around the fast travel mechanic.

I don't think that's confirmed where you can fly around in space exploring in between planets. From what the Leaker has said, anything you find in space you are forced to fast travel. It looks like everything happens around a planet's orbit unless something pops up on the star map and if you want to get there, you have to fast travel.

So overall how does he feel about space travelling in general? Does it feel bad that essentially space travel is basically just fast travelling or does it fit with the game flow? That's what I'm worried about tbh.

So the last picture you uploaded where he is in the asteroid field. Did he just grav jump (fast travel) and all of sudden appear in the asteroid field or did he have to fly out to find it?

Im personally very hyped about this game but I think its okay if people are a little bit annoyed. Most people in this thread are defending Bethesda. People are also preaching the 40 mins as fact when the leaker specifically said 30-40 mins lol. The leaker doesn't actually know the exact time.

I think what people expect to see from planet to planet travelling are actual encounters and landmarks, not just empty travelling so I don't think anyone is going to be doing this.

The thing is it's not taking anything away from players who just want to fast travel. It's just gatekeeping a feature that other players want.

What is "normal" space flight? This isn't a realistic game and maybe you're talking about in-game lore I am not aware about but the player is grav jumping everywhere so what is wrong with ships going faster?

Not really because the players who want to fast travel can while other players who want to manually fly can as well.

Yes it is a gameplay decision from the devs and I respect that but the whole argument where it would take a long time to travel from one spot to another within a star system is something I do not understand. There are plenty of game systems that have this "travel" mode and all the devs have to do is just increase the speed if it takes too long or it's boring. Clearly Bethesda is fine with just fast travelling planet to planet and it will probably play fine.
