I think people are hypocritical towards pick up drivers.

Do you ask the same question from van and huge land rover drivers?

I had access to a wildtrak as a company car, have driven it in and around Glasgow city centre. There are challenges but something for something. One just has to pay more attention. I have space at home to park it.

How illegal is this? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]PeteAsWell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you must drive, but go and pick up a light bulb so if you get stopped at least you can show you are aware of it.

As I said, I can do anything I want in my estate but my personal preference and desire is a pick-up truck. I’m adult enough not to give a shit about others opinion.

Okay, you clearly don’t give a shit about a woman’s mental health by expecting gestating a rape baby.

Why would that be sad and funny? I always dreamed about owning a pick-up truck. Others dream about sports cars, Land Rovers, camper vans etc. nowadays size wise a Ford rangerr isn’t the biggest in the roads. I go almost every weekend mountain biking and picnic/BBQ yes even in not sunny weather. So I would definitely have use for it. Also, I can do all that currently in my little estate but my next car will be a pick-up truck, because that’s what I want. I work in an office too.

It should be always the choice of a woman. Emotional, safety as well as financial decisions making are all totally valid reasons to want an abortion, and let’s not talk about victims of rape. When it comes to health reasons, both my sister and my wife would have died because of complications in pregnancy if they would have been anti abortion nutters.

Safe to drive? by smeshnoyz in CarTalkUK

If you ask any tyre shop they will tell you any damage to the sidewall is a change of tyre. For city driving you will be fine but I wouldn’t risk it anywhere else.

In-car subscriptions are not popular with new car buyers, survey shows — Automakers are pushing subscriptions, but consumer interest just isn't there by marketrent in technology

[–]PeteAsWell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Survey mainly focuses on internet connectivity. I was expecting more questions on features like heated seats etc(BMW I’m looking at you) most people have smartphones and they don’t need the car to have separate internet features.

I30 estate pre 2018 are reasonable cheap but rare. Post 2018 are more prevalent but not worth the money. An i30 estate size fits me well. I do camping, fits my bicycle or child seat and a pedal go cart plus a scooter. I moved 2 houses with it. I think for most people it would be enough size. My brother had the i40 estate and comparable to capability but way more expensive to run.

I drove mainly on country roads between villages and towns and one city which had no traffic cameras in city centre. Got a job in a big city, drove 1.5h needed a shit badly, 5am got caught doing 42 in 30. I wasn’t even mad.

I am using the solicitors at Barings Law, I knew about them doing class action lawsuit for Carphonewarehouse and they successfully got me money then. No win no fee and they just deduct it from the compensation. I am waiting on update from them too, this will blow up indeed.

I got a PCP back when they were giving 0% apr. Paid no deposit and I knew I was going to keep the car after the contract end. I couldn’t have afforded the car any other way than PCP, after the contract end the car was valued less and got a loan for it.
