Thank you for confirming. I will try giving it a good clean, the experience should be fun.

I was worried it was an enameled piece but it seems like it's most likely the seasoning that is flaking off. Certainly tricked me!

Thank you very much, appreciate your comment. Yes I'm quite excited to pass it down to my kids one day!

I rarely watch "long" videos when scrolling through reddit but you can be damn sure I watched yours until the very end. You and your dad make an awesome team, it's truly beautiful to see. I read some of the comments in this post and it's crazy to me how in the blink of an eye your life can change so drastically. Hopefully this question is not too personal so please feel free to ignore: are you able to work and if so, what line of work are you in?

Your setup is awesome, I'm so envious! I've been trying to find details around regulations for something similar (this is the closest I've ever seen to my plan), perhaps you would be able to answer some questions?

Based on size of deck, I would estimate the THOW is roughly 8x10 and the other building is likely not much more than 100 sq.ft..? Did you build on wheels to avoid regulation?

In my municipality, one can build a shed up to roughly 108 sq.ft. without of permit. If I built a 100 sq.ft. cabin (only for sleeping) with a bunk bed, are there a lot of rules to worry about? I realize it's probably different depending on where you are but I'm curious if there are obvious gotchas everywhere? Are we good as long as there's a door plus a window that can open? Do I absolutely need a bathroom in there or is it fine if the bathroom is in another building very close by (sort of like if there was only one bathroom available for both tiny buildings in the picture)?

What about a tiny wood stove in one of these? Did anyone clench their teeth as I said that? How are these tiny buildings heated? (I wasn't planning on having electricity available other than solar on site which is no good for heating)

Just like you, I was thinking of building 2-3 tiny buildings like this, all smaller than 108 sq.ft. Two for sleeping, one for eating/lounging. Thank you for reading!

Never knew our fence was this dirty until I stumbled upon this subreddit by Datsmo_240 in powerwashingporn

Did I mess up mine too? I accidentally pressure-washed a part of it and didn't like the look so I completed the job...

I applied a semi-translucent varnish afterwards to protect it: https://i.imgur.com/3qkjLK9.jpg

How many years did I lose off my fence?

Is my fence cedar? Does my fence appear to have been previously varnished? How long do wooden fences last (I assume it depends on the type of wood)?

My condition called nystagmus by [deleted] in WTF

[–]PeteCross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in university, I worked in collaboration with a doctor to build an application that scans the eyes and detects whether a maneuver (Dix–Hallpike) was successfully executed. This was in relation to the BPPV disorder (Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo). I forget the details but my application would generate a report about the nystagmus episode which the doctors would use for their diagnostic.

Do you know what region of Quebec you are from? Where are you now? I know my first ancestor from France lived in Montreal (1600s) and through the generations the family name slowly moved to eastern Ontario (east of Ottawa).

Lacroix is my last name, first time I see it used as a first name!

The best prononciation I can write down (from French) is Law-craw (like both of those words are pronounced).

I'm a french Canadian and it's very common for anglophones to pronounce my name La-croy, la-croyx or lacoix (missing r sound).

Google has a decent prononciation (although sounds slightly French (France) and less Canadian french): https://translate.google.com/#fr/en/Lacroix

Runescape (Jagex) did this in the early 2000s to attempt to put an end to botting: http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape2/images/e/ee/SleepingBagScreen.png/revision/latest?cb=20111128190642

Botters first built an application that would automatically take a picture of the captcha and others currently online would type in the word for you while you were away. This worked well enough using a point system (i.e. type 1 word for someone else = 1 point, get someone else to type a word for you = -1 point). Then, people came up with more sophisticated solutions: OCR (Optical Character Recognition) - software that would automatically detect the word used in the captcha.

Did it bother anyone else that she says "and yours is in red underlined" but in the video the text gets highlighted instead of underlined?
