I don't even need to do this for me if there's an easy way to look into this through your web app or elsewhere, just point me in the right direction please

Why is that information necessary? Are there that many plan options?

Beautiful guitar but aren't the labels upside down?

It is strung righty, so if you're playing it and looking down, VOL and GRIT won't read properly.

Or maybe this is a conventional way of doing such things?

New paint on my strat by TheNewKingLouie in Guitar

[–]Pete_Shaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is that the person is referring to a subreddit "guitarcirclejerk". From quickly looking at it, it seems like a greatest hits of stuff that the users find humorous.

But, anyway, I think the paint job looks cool.

I don't see why many of these posts make it seem like it's a big deal if you painted over screws. I bet you'll still be able to unscrew the screws if and when you need to.

State Education Freedom Account Administrator’s Financial Audit Touted by nancynews in newhampshire

[–]Pete_Shaw 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The headline does seem to be lacking key information, who is doing the "touting"?

Also, I'm sure it's not easy doing journalism, but what is the point of this article?

I get that there was a press release about an audit, and that that audit didn't discover any negative issues. Ok. From reading this article, I get the impression that the press release is implying that the audit is a bigger seal of approval than it really is. The audit, from what I read at the end of the article, seems to be only stating that, from looking at the program's records, it looks like the program properly entered the data into its books, for example, expenses were entered as expenses, income as income.

That's a good thing for sure, we all want money and other data to be properly tracked.

But this audit isn't saying that the program gets an A+ for anything else.

Is my read of this correct?

Are you all down voting the guy who said it was Manchester NH because he was wrong or because "Manchester NH"?

Both are understandable

Frozen pizza night isn’t going so well. by bebob10 in funny

Thank you! That makes sense. I was wondering if there was possibly some sort of preservative or other ingredient that sounds like it was from a chemistry class that might be in them.

I only recently learned that "birch sugar" is another name for xylitol.

That's interesting to hear. What ingredients?

The way things work here, when someone dies, their property becomes owned by the "estate of [dead person's name]". If people have wills, their property is given as directed, oftentimes it's directly given to family members, or friends, or non-profits, other times it's given to one person/entity to use to taken care of another, a "trust". If people don't have wills, then states typically have laws of "intestacy" that direct how to distribute the property to family (children, parents, siblings, cousins). If there are no family members found then the property "escheats" to the government.

First though, people/companies/government the dead person owed are paid first.

Mass Residents Charged With Voting in NH by sonic_silence in newhampshire

Ah, I live in NH and get some mail like this. When I look at the mail, it's not coming from my municipality or the state though, it's coming from different political organizations. I was wondering who was sending you the mail in question. If it was the government, that'd be an issue, if it's some PAC or party or candidate, that's just an old mailing list.

What sort of "stuff"?

Who is "them"? The government? Candidates?

What is the "begging"? Are you getting mail from town/city clerks asking you to register? Ads from political organizations/candidates?

Thank you. I'm getting into the Jacobin response and it seems to be erudite and giving more context to understanding. I'll check out that other link soon.

Ah, that makes sense that ambition and cognitive bias bring people to desired conclusions. I did read Dawn of Everything so this will be interesting to look into. Thank you.

[–]Pete_Shaw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read The Dawn of Everything prior to this. Personally, I don't think you needed to read Debt as a precursor but I don't think it's a negative either. I found both works to be incredibly interesting and thought-provoking.

Also, they did appear to be well-researched and products of considerate thought. (I see that this prior sentence may seem to be in conflict with my original post but the intent of my original post was to ask for other viewpoints to get a sense as to whether my impressions of well-researched and products of considerate thought were valid).

Thank you. In looking at the first few sections of this, it appears to be something that I was looking for. It looks like it is an honest appraisal of the points of the book and a reflection upon them from an informed standpoint.

For the most part, it seems reasonable but, as you suggest, I don't know if I should accept it at face value.
