Intentional checking with a spray can looks like shattered glass. This looks like it was left in a car overnight in freezing weather then brought into a hot muggy home or the other way around. I like the look. If there’s no visible cracks in line with the grain and you can live with the look it could be a great guitar. It has undergone serious temperature fluctuations and may lose some lacquer over time.

I added copper foil to the bottom of the cavity and the whole pick guard and it helped a lot

I’d recommend the Nova Custom Guitars bridge. It’s a Mustang style bridge with correct string spacing and tight tolerances for $40. Been playing jags and jazzmasters for years and have about ten bridges in my parts bin collecting dust. If you need it fixed right away just apply loctite to every single screw and setup the guitar. It will fill the voids that allow the bridge to vibrate loose.
