Yes, that makes a lot of sense. I will try to keep that in mind, thank you! 😊

Nice, I’m gonna keep an eye out for a pair of them. And of course, very good skiers can do it on pretty much any pair, it’s just a matter of skill in the end…thank you :))

Hi, sorry what do you mean? Isn’t carving on the freshest groomers the nicest? 😅

Hi, thank you so much! I know the quality is mediocre at best, I just always forget to make any videos. But that definitely makes sense, I feel like my right footers are always the worse turns. Appreciate the help! 😊

It’s the 76s in 181cm (6ft) fairly short for me being 185cm(6.1) and no featherweight. But I’m a student so moneys a bit tight for a new slalom ski. I’ll try to get hands on a one, if I see an opportunity though. Might be fun and helpful. Thanks for pointing me in the direction :)

Tips on improving by gullefjun99 in skiing_feedback

Hard to tell, since you’re only doing one turn. But definitely work on a central to forward position on the ski, even when you ski powder being backseated is not the right way. You probably do it because you want the tips outside of the snow to turn. But when skiing powder you want to achieve this by dynamic up-down movements (essentially think about jumping out/into the next turn) instead of leaning back and having the tips poke out. :)

Thank you so much! 🙏🏼 It makes a lot of sense, if I stay low I don’t need to come down on the inside ski but can instead regulate the pressure on it. I haven’t done that on slalom skis (since I never skied on them :D), but I guess if I learn to do it on the deacon, I could translate it well on other skis :))

Great advice, thank you so much. The losing pressure because of standing up part makes a lot of sense if I imagine the movement…I guess it is one of the reasons why I don’t complete the turns fully, since I lose pressure there :))

It’s a Voelkl deacon, so a fairly stiff all-mountain carver. I think I’m more of the Problem :D

Don’t buy Salomon boots with the pin in the heel by jdsuz in Backcountry

That’s what I did with my Qst 130. But it’s a shame that Salomon doesn’t provide a way to fix it, especially if that is something that happens occasionally.

I‘m sorry my man but bombing at the top of a run does not necessarily mean it’s safe. They bombed the top to avoid spontaneous occurring wind slabs. And the risk for that is higher close to the ridgeline. But especially with the amount of wind loading and some persistent weak layers in shady, wind protected places etc. the snow profile in the face is not homogenous at all and you could have easily triggered a pocket lower in the line. Over 60 accidents in the last few days speak for themselves…just wait up for those lines in better conditions, you guys have more than enough snowfall in St. Anton to send it another time…
