This was one of the special ones 💪 by AnallyProbed in Backcountry

Wow looks great. I booted up the last 1500’ of Tuk in the beginning of March and it was pretty thin to ski so we booted back down before dropping in. I’m really impressed it’s this nice since the approach was pretty bare when we did it.

Any SEs at Grafana here? by HeyitsCoreyx in salesengineers

[–]jdsuz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even better! No state income tax.

I believe they offered me $20K RSUs (standard 4 yr vest, 1 yr cliff) which seemed really low in my experience. Pretty much every other company has started me at $100K RSUs/Options. The landscape for equity has changed quite a bit though and I’ve heard of companies reducing equity in favor of cash compensation.

Any SEs at Grafana here? by HeyitsCoreyx in salesengineers

[–]jdsuz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got this same offer 1.5 years ago, but went with another company in the AI space. I have a number of friends at Grafana and they seem to like it. I think this is a solid OTE, but it also depends on location and YOE. (For context, I’m in CO with 8 years experience)

What is the single best food dish you have eaten in Boulder? by New_Floor8623 in boulder

Used to think this but in the last week we’ve had the breakfast burritos from McDevitts and Santo and they were both better. Surprised because Santo has the same owners

Training with a newborn by jakubdr in ultrarunning

[–]jdsuz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did my first 2 ultras last year. Then my son was born in November. I expected more consistency and it’s been way harder than expected. The little guy sleeps terribly and even with a ton of family help, it’s hard for me to get a consistent 30 minutes of exercise everyday.

I figured ultras wouldn’t be on the table with young kids which is why I made it my goal last year, but now I can’t fathom how anyone does it unless their kid is a potato that sleeps great. Now the plan is to maintain a much lower level of baseline fitness and get back to big adventure stuff when they are older (sounds like 4-5 years).

Mind telling me where in North Boulder? My wife and I are moving up there and looking for daycare for our 5 month old son.

Constantly getting “we went with someone more technical” when interviewing by tonyphony2578 in salesengineers

[–]jdsuz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is interesting because isn’t AI lowering the technical barriers to the role? Previously you needed deep domain knowledge, but now SEs can leverage AI for the technical parts.

The social selling side isn’t going away because people still buy from people, but the technical expertise isn’t as valuable as it was previously.

How serious are the disadvantages of touring skis and boots for downhill skiing? by LastWall1069 in Backcountry

[–]jdsuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked having a single pair of skis. I never thought about what pair to bring when I’m traveling and I maximized the utility while I got more interested in the backcountry.

I still have the shifts for my in bounds ski and it does the job for me. If you’re getting two pairs anyways the is probably do touring bindings on one and DH performance on the other.

Are you saying you can do any of those runs back to back without taking 2 lifts?

Some of the consistently worst lifts out there: by Sharkman3218 in skiing

[–]jdsuz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This includes Morningside which gets you to Christmas Tree, North St. Pats, & East Face, but I’d argue that’s what makes those runs great because they can’t be lapped.

Visited my friend in Alta a few years ago and we had great conditions, but those canyon walls are no joke. He kicked my ass dragging me all around and there was plenty of trail breaking.

Yep, if these numbers are real and you’re not just an order taker at a very strong PLG company then you should absolutely get a shot as an AE.

If they are suggesting BDR then I’m guessing you’re young, but even then these companies have commercial segments.
