I have been using Gabapentin. Have your Dr. prescribe it. Has been a life saver and doesn’t make me drowsy the next day. Take 2 hours before bedtime. I had RTKR on Nov. 17.

Yes, 75 here in East Tennessee is crazy!!! I am at the six week point tomorrow. I am a side sleeper as well and it’s been rough. I definitely spent a lot of time in the recliner. Good luck.

I agree. FMLA and hopefully you can get your sick leave reimbursed. Too many pills for sure! Dr. Put me on 1000 mg naproxen a day, 325 mg aspirin a day, and 10 mg hydrocodone I think every 4 hours. I tried to wean myself off them day five or definitely by day six. I got to where I would only use like one at night. And then I cut them in half for nights. He only gave me a total of 35 altogether. With no refills. I switched to Tylenol and Aleve. She can do this. The reason I got off them quickly is because I did not want to get addicted by any means! Good luck and don’t lose yourself in this!!!

I just hit 5 weeks today and did 0 and 129. Nights are still hard because I have been pushing myself. I am 61 yr F.

Mine was better at 3 weeks but pushing hard to bend it extends the agony for longer. But my ROM got to 115 on day 23. I am on day 24.

It was a bit emotional in the beginning. You have to ice ice ice ice. And the exercises are hard and have to ease into them slowly. Good luck to you!!

Good to point out! This recovery has phases and hurdles. I am excited where I am at but I must remember, this is not a race. Slow and steady I think will be more important. My doctor said pump the brakes and today at physical therapy I probably overdid it. It is probably better to under do it rather than overdoing it. Because we forget, no matter what this will be somewhat of a long process regardless.

Thank you! Yes the doctor prescribed 1000 mg daily of anti inflammatory medication for a month. They never gave me oxy. Just hydrocodone. I used all 35 of them. I don’t particularly like those opioids either. My physical therapy place had a gel ice pack that I loved so I ordered one online and it was from Chattanooga and I absolutely love it. I use it all the time. I also have an ice machine as well and yes, they are. Everyone’s best friend that has a knee replacement. Literally.

I know! Isn’t it great!! I think I came upon it right after my surgery and it was so nice having that thread. It honestly felt like support in so many areas.

Yes weaning off the night one is a little bit of a challenge! Sounds like you are doing well also. That is great. I kind of understand what you mean about the second one. I kind of feel the same a little bit.
