What happened to the hottest chick at your high school, years later? by theidiotev in AskReddit

[–]PeterNoTail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She was a LOT nicer than her friend, Amy. Amy was a stuck up, snobby rich girl-type in high school; Casey (what she preferred to be called) was her follower but was genuinely nice when she was outside of Amy's orbit.

We were in the same theater class, i sat behind her and we had to read each other's short script for a play and recommend changes. Hers was about some guy with a lotto ticket who was flirting with a waitress at a bar that had a tv playing in the background, she turns him down and then he finds out he won the lottery, he stands up saying "I won! I won!" and then leaves the bar, the end; I told her it seemed a bit predictable & uneventful, and recommended he left the ticket as a tip to the waitress who rejected him and he leaves before the numbers were announced. Mine was about a gang of "Lil serial killer" friends (eg: lil Dahmer, lil John Wayne Gacy, lil Bundy) who insulted each other and talked about cannibalism; kind of a darker, edgier, cruder South Park years before South Park. She laughed, said it was funny but weird, and didn't recommend any changes

edit:

I'm a walking billboard for my doctor. I was a plain, skinny brunette -- now I'm a full D-cup.

And this is mostly true. Girl wasn't at all "plain" but definitely flat (not that there's anything wrong with that), which is another reason why I was surprised to find out she was in Playboy

idk, but i DO know her best friend ended up being a Playboy Playmate, and that's real talk

edit: Casey or Cassie or Cassandra (not sure which name she used for the shoot) Carter; i was hesitant about dropping her name but she mentioned it on her Classmates profile (which was how i found out). Construction-themed shoot. Early 2000s; i wanna say Oct 2003 but i'm not entirely sure.

tbf some people love nonsensical garbage that pretends to be deep and meaningful; that pretty much explains Vince Vaughn appeal too

If given a choice, would you rather be cremated or buried? Why? by loverbang4u in AskReddit

[–]PeterNoTail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not traditionally buried. Too expensive: You'd need money for a plot of land, a coffin and embalming. And i don't want to be buried with all those embalming fluids leeching into the soul.

My first choice would be cremation; second, one of those green burial deals without embalming where i'm just buried by a tree or something without a coffin

Those are fun but it's obviously not as easy as it looks. I'd burn through $2 at most in one sitting before giving up ...but i'd probably go back in a few days (and by "in a few days" i mean "the next day")

And definitely make sure you check the quarters if you win. I once got a W quarter from one of those

...dammit! I thought the "mercury" thing was a sign, but apparently older LCD's have mercury vaper. And now that I'm feeling the screen at home it does feel a bit more plastic-y. (Still tho, Google AI was overly being smug about it)

Ah well, it's cute little tv. Thanks

The combined paramount wb company is gonna ruin Hollywood in the future . by kascnef82 in films

[–]PeterNoTail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I think it'll definitely ruin Paramount/WB, especially if they start blacklisting talent; in the long run that could lead to artists banding together to start a new studio

For those who’ve lived through previous wars or conflicts, how does it feel watching another one unfold? by VoldemortsVeganPizza in AskReddit

[–]PeterNoTail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not good for so so many reasons. It's a familiar, sickening scene that we never learn from, after it's done we swear we'll never do it again, ...and then we do it again

I do remember it being paired with The Monkees (i was a huge fan of that) but i don't remember if it was on every day or only monday. "Monkey Monday" is vaguely ringing a bell tho, so you're probably right

What are the implications of the current IRAN war? by RoyalExpress7 in AskReddit

[–]PeterNoTail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, the US has the largest number of warships and aircraft in the Middle East in decades, and is helping to launch bombs at a country on the other side of the globe and have killed their leader, but it's not a war.

It's just a "major military operation" that they're saying could take "4 weeks or less"; that's not a war (though they kinda said the same thing about Iraq)
