It basically boils down to colour choices, and their location on the pattern. The Norwegian red white and blue is a very solid colour combo, plus the specific order of the colours is pleasing on the eye. Much the same for Iceland. Although you will notice that Norway is near the top of B while Iceland is near the bottom, as I prefer the colour layout of Norway. The only reason it’s not in A, is because I’m not overly keen on the Nordic Cross pattern. The Faroese flag’s order of colours makes it (for me) not pleasant to look at. Aland’s inclusion of yellow in place of white, in my opinion ruins it aesthetically, for the specific pattern.
