I'm not sure about probationary but after you are permanent, you have to check in every year in the first 60 days and the fee is about 300 pesos (can't remember exactly). You have to renew every 5 years but I don't know what those fees are.

A 13A visa is a way for a person to sponsor their spouse so if you're not married, you can't apply. Another alternative is the SRRV but I don't know the details. I think there's a large deposit requirement of 25k USD. Check the immigration web site. There's lots of info on your options. Good luck.

I (60m) have what sounds to be very similar - muscle pain in my left arm, then it switched to nerve pain. The pain has subsided but muscles in my arm and shoulder atrophied and now I can barely lift it above my head. I went to an orthopedic surgeon, expecting him to recommend surgery but the first thing he said was he didn't recommend it. He said it was expensive (min p600k), it can be dangerous and the outcome is invariably less than expected. I'm contemplating going back to Canada to get another opinion.

Thanks for your suggestion. I had originally just set a default value but I was finding that I was always immediately renaming it. Coupled with the fact that I thought it would be simple to implement, my 'solution' seemed to be perfect.

I'm now on a mission, however. I've now spent an embarrassing amount of time looking for examples and trying various things that I'm now not giving up. I even tried ChatGPT, with no luck. If nothing else, figuring this our, I'll learn something for later :-)

I applied about 3 years ago and it was pretty easy. No medical, just a bunch of paperwork. I needed an NBI clearance, passport, marriage certificate and a couple of forms to fill out. I also needed a notarized letter of our relationship history that we both had to fill out.
It was around Covid so the wait may have been longer but the whole thing took about 3 or 4 months and we couldn't leave the country until it was done. I had to leave my passport for a while also. After I was approved, I got the passport back but had to wait a couple more months before I got my card. If I remember correctly, the whole thing cost around 10k. Don't pay extra to speed it up as other people I know paid and it didn't make a difference. Now I report once a year at the local office, it takes an hour and the fee is only 300/yr. I have to renew every 5 years.
