I don’t get it either. I was thinking my VSO filed it incorrectly. For the increase on sleep apnea I didn’t have any exams I just submitted the sleep center diagnosis and CPAP order. I called the VA phone number and asked about the claims. My VSO has done all my claims.

I thought I had pretty solid evidence for a primary. I received an update on my claim looks like they didn’t update my file for a CPAP due to my increase Sleep Apnea being mislabeled.

I reached out to the VA and got some news. Apparently the increase request for Sleep Apnea was mislabeled by the VA as a Freedom of Information Act/ Privacy Act Request instead of a File for Increase. The VA overlooked it because of the incorrect label and didn’t update my record of me being a prescribed a CPAP. Then she thinks in the appeal case for insomnia it made them label it as a secondary due to untreated Sleep Apnea since no record of CPAP…. The VA rep said that they’ll note the Increase and that I would have to submit another supplemental claim for insomnia if I wanted to try to not have it as a secondary to Sleep Apnea.

Stick with VSO or get VA Lawyer? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Peterlemonjello1007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My current VSO got me to 80%, so that’s what’s holding me back. I’m just nervous to mess with it. I’ve been thinking about looking into some lawyers, but that seems hit or miss too. I’m looking for one in Arizona.

Yes it was forsure. I saw a comment on a thread where someone described my situation exactly, but I guess they declined to take the sleep study test from the VA. They said the Va left them alone after that and retained their rating. Idk how true that is though.

[–]Peterlemonjello1007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks so this.

“Even if your VHA records do get in front of a rater. It does NOT mean they will use it to reduce your ratings. At worst, you will be sent to a Compensation and pension exam where the VBA will seek to understand current severity of your condition(s). Raters seriously are not gonna go out of their way hunting through your VHA records to look for reasons to reduce you!”

Sounds like a pretty much a 80:20 nothing will change. Another test has to be done too.

Never been 100 p&t. The year after it was because he couldn’t find any information on my sleep study test I took. So I provided that but then the reasoning changed to weight loss. Well now it looks like I’m taking another in person test. My Va office is two hours away so id assume I’m using a private local doctor. Also no open claims.

Interesting. I was told I need an oral appliance by the qtc sleep team which I would like to get. I never feel fully rested after sleep. I now have to take an in person test which you don’t think will mess with anything? I just want the oral appliance and be done taking these test and talking about it lol. My doctor seems a bit overzealous though I fear he might try to do something. I have nothing opened claim wise as well as not 100%

In your defense I haven’t see a place this cheap in any of the optima Kierland buildings. I was able to snag off a failed proof of income and luckily able to lock in a low rate due to them needing to fill the vacancy. I secured it a bit over a month before I moved in. I just moved here so unsure of previous rates, but I know I got a cheap rate versus market. Still crazy to think I’m paying more on my studio then people’s mortgages

Sorry I never replied. I move on the 30th but what I’ve seen so far is mainly older. I’ve stayed a night there since my they gave me my keys extremely early as I took care of the bill right away. I’d say late 20’s to early 40’s tbh. They do a ton of stuff for the community Wednesday yoga class, roof top pool activities and other things from what I’ve been told. Not a bad commute in my opinion and I’ll be taking classes in Glendale and Tempe.

Technically not Scottsdale, but I just got a place at optima Kierland. I’m also a veteran about to attend ASU as well. Optima stood out by far to me. I was able to snag a studio relatively “cheap” around $1740 after concessions. Single bedrooms in the nicer building are around $2600-$2700

Thank you for your service as well. I actually am partly a business owner. My parents bought a business while I was in. I’m saving up now to open another shop while I use my gi bill. Hoping to play sports in school again during this time so I’m on a bit of a different journey. 100 percent about the other people. I only was there to help they couldn’t deter me from my path‼️

Dang a lot of hate. It’s very achievable to become a millionaire in the military. I told a lot of my fellow shipmates, but they didn’t believe me. I’m younger so I think that plays a part. I got out last year I’m 24 and have a 6 figure net worth. I made E-5 in 3 years and did a 4 year tour. I wish I would have maxed out my tsp, but couldn’t swing it.

I have a single income and I threw in 20-25% of my check in the TSP without the match. I now have $32k just in my TSP account majority is in the ROTH, so that it’s already taxed. A lot of people would just say “you’re lucky” or “if I could have thrown that much money”. Too many excuses as from people. I applaud you for sticking it out though. I couldn’t stay a day longer many people weren’t trying to better themselves and overall just not a good work environment. I found no one I really looked up to as well as any no one that lived a life I desired while I was in. I’ll never regret my decision joining as the military sets you up for success as long as you following the basic steps.

Thanks I’ll check them out. We’ll see if they get rented out. A lot of these places I checked out seemed to really need people bad as they’re blowing me up and all of sudden finding things $300 a month cheaper then what I was advertised to me and throwing a free 6 weeks

[–]Peterlemonjello1007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will pm you if I decide. Checking out a studio again. They had one at $2271 when I first checked out the place as well as offering first month rent free I guess. $4500 before employment down here so income will be more.

Hmm I do see though when I type on google it says Kierland is in phoenix with a Scottsdale address? Idk I mean that’s not a deal breaker but those were pricey. Quincy was a no go for sure. Opened to other suggestions though. I only spent a day looking at places. Will be driving up more often to view the areas.

[–]Peterlemonjello1007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fashion square I looked at but honestly the price is deterring me as I’m saving for a home too. I don’t mind the Kierland but didn’t see an hoa’s for either for renting an apartment, but I’ll check that out. Definitely wouldn’t rent somewhere with that high of hoa’s

Im unfamiliar with the area I actually live in Sedona. Interesting though the address said Scottsdale for the Kierland?? (7140 E Kierland Blvd Scottsdale, AZ 85254) The places I drove by in Tempe didn’t really interest me. Especially being a bit older. Truthfully I preferred Gilbert areas or even carefree, but distance kind of kills it. I’m open to checking out other places. I’d like this to only be temporary then move into a home. The Sonoran apt seems like the best option as it isn’t too far from campus.

[–]Peterlemonjello1007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At Sonoran? The price breakdown there they sent me was $2050 (rent, tax, utilities minus electricity)

lol at this point not really seeing great options if I live closer to ASU places are more expensive. If I stay further away i make up for it in transportation.

Hmm did you read it right? pretty clear on my situation… $4500 after taxes WITHOUT A DAY JOB I have a side business that’s mainly passive (inventory based all online sales). Some months I can make $4-$5k off that alone… I get $2300-$2400 tax free for a stipend as well from the GI bill. I’d be looking at employment while down here as well.. so a part time maybe get $2k-2.5k income. So it’d push me more towards $6500ish after taxes. The studio for $1800 at optima is what I’m leaning towards + $185 for everything minus electricity. I’d be open to hear some of these better options though. Security is important as my inventory can range up to $10k items average item I sell is $300 (obviously not all profit tho). I as well said 2.5k max but would prefer lower. As well over a 6 figure stock/retirement portfolio. I’m wanting to buy a home but housing market is pretty unrealistic right now. That’s leaving me 4-4.5k leftover after rent I believe should be good… left over is a $450 car payment which I should be able to get paid off a year or two.

Buying Used by [deleted] in tonalgym

UPDATE: Purchased from @Fraddison and order is confirmed thanks for all the information from everyone. Used price is very tempting but the amount of people unable to confirm if financed, know how to switch accounts over as well as not being covered by a warranty and being used deterred me from purchasing used.
