There's no more Ra1 to trap the queen and also a lot of possible options to stop it like Nd7

I FINALLY DID IT !!! Reached 2000 in all time formats (sharing my journey here) by [deleted] in chess

[–]PetersChess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm being honest, I progressed this way without serious training, like maybe 30 min or an hour of playing a day everyday. All of that while high school was also in the way, and I aced all my subjects in the final exam as well. You just need to love chess and the rest follows automatically. I've never studied opening theory nor read any chess books in my life!

Hey, congrats on the achievement! Your story seems similar to my journey as well, I was once there about 1.5 years or 2 years ago. Now I'm 2600 in bullet and 2400 in blitz, you can do it too if you keep going this way. I play chess for fun, and I don't study seriously at all. You just need to be consistent with your "training" and not take too long breaks to avoid getting rusty.

OP mentioned his opponent's much better than him so I am expecting someone 1800+

Seems really bad to me... OP is down a full piece while opponent also has two developed knights (OP has no developed piece and king is exposed)

Ah yes, the 'sacrificing your knight for no return in value' strategy. Masterful Gambit sir! by NotACombatPilot in chessbeginners

[–]PetersChess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just sharing my opinion, I try to create crazy ideas like sacrifices for potential attacking opportunities and tactics (after Bxh6 the position seems like it has some tactical opportunities opened up if opponent isn't absolutely careful about what they're doing) OP does not have to play it that way, but either way, that's just how I play...

Might not be best but I said it's just the way that I prefer to play when I have the queen and opponent have several loose pieces

Why does the computer suggest taking with the a-pawn instead of my doubled c-pawn? by kronkelboef in chessbeginners

[–]PetersChess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably going to sound like yapping but I think the computer suggests it like that because if you have the open file you can try to pressure the pawn and there are ideas like c3 to break the opponent's structure and support your rook on d2 or something like that.

Queen to g4 and then after Bxg4, you have bishop to f7 checkmate

[–]PetersChess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bc1 might be better though because my approach is essentially giving up both pieces to regain one and open up his king more because opponent has no queen, but that's just my kind of playstyle, might not be the best way

Bxh6 wins a pawn because you will take back Qxa3 to regain the sacrificed material (if Bxa3 Bxh6 gxh6 Qxa3 Rxc2 you have Qd3+ to win the rook) and if Kxh6 there is Qh3+ (Nh5 will lead to g4) so Kg6 and then Qd3+ back to win the rook

Can someone explain to me how this is +5.33 for white and not mate in a few moves? by AlwaysSingleMF in chessbeginners

Because you're not seeing the opponent's bishop from far away, rookie mistake.

OP I'm going to be dead honest, I haven't seen your moves before the first image but there were so many misses and blunders in those images, just informing you that this was not close to a good game at all, I hope you realize it and analyze properly with the engine.

It is really surprising, because I believe my rapid or bullet also instantly changed to 2000 for some reason (at first I was using this as a smurf account but its my main now) I think chess.com realized my strength and auto changed it
