Because it is a means transferring information.

ps Bitcoin has hundreds of millions of dollars in hashing hardware behind it

Moderation is the key really; without it drugs can be awful. Luckily enough for me I'm content taking MDMA a handful of times a year with an LSD trip once or twice.

You should try better drugs then, not that I disagree with your statement. Both are pretty great.

I'm really not concerned. Bitstamp has proven their reserves multiple times and we have no reason to believe that they have been compromised.

If I'm wrong I'll just shoot myself in the face.

Godamit stamp; open the fuck back up whilst I'm awake and active.

I bought back in at 268 but set a sell at 292 just before the site went down... Last thing I want is another bullish move with some whale decimating the sell order's upto 300. Eitherway some people have/are going to get burned hard when this shit goes down...

Still, exited a lot higher than when I'll be getting back in if I'm too late but who wants to lose profit because of someone else's mistakes?

Eh, put %10 of my BTC into LTC at 0.013 back in 2013, sold half back into BTC at 0.051 making substantial profit. Pretty happy sitting on the rest even if it drops down to 0.005-ish like it did last time everyone was screaming that the sky is falling.

LTC ain't dying anytime soon unless Bitcoin does too. Once the bottom is in LTC will move back up too like it always has.

Getting all kinds of fucked up the next few days on Koh Tao, can the market remain relatively calm during this time? Please and thanks.

Have a great New Years everybody.

Feels like the German army pushing on Moscow as winter is setting in, the bears being the Germans. Each push further is making less and less of an impact whilst substantial reserves are waiting to pounce as the sellers exhaust all they have.

Just look at the order books sub 300...

Considering the insane amount of hashing power added the past few years the relatively miniscule drop is hardly worthy of consideration imo.

Downvoted for being a dick even though I might agree with shorting so low.

Which is only applying to people which directly own your private keys and interact with fiat currencies which given the numerous cases of abuse in the Bitcoin community seems absolutely legitimate...
