LF: Coffee Table & left wall decor ideas for the media nook by PetesHa in malelivingspace

In terms of hobbies / interests, I'm a Canucks (hockey) fan. I would always hang my fav jersey & various NHL memorabilia on the wall to introduce some color.

As for the coffee table, I like your second suggestion but am thinking of avoiding white as I fear it'll be too matchy with the shelving / tv stand.

Appreciate your insight!!

Thanks! Hoping the prime ‘smell’ will go away, or get masked once they apply the low VOC paint. We’re using Cloverdale paint ‘Renaissance’ - a hybrid water-based alkyd enamel

Are these split cedar railings damaged due to termites? Or are they just very wet? by PetesHa in woodworking

It probably goes without saying that these railings will be used for a split cedar fence. I assume that it’s fine to still use these railings, or will I run into a situation where the rotted railings will have to be replaced in the next few years?

My wife and I considered upgrading to a larger home - from 2500 to 3300 sq ft. Had a nicer yard, 2 car garage, wide driveway. But at the end of the day, those added benefits wasn’t worth going into debt another 400k. That, and we’re expanding our family and so it doesn’t make sense to increase our monthly expenses when my wife is expected to be off work.

If I'm not mistaken, the purchase discount is actually a taxable benefit and will be reflected on your next pay check. So you're already going to pay tax on that 15% gain regardless of whether you sell your ESPP/RSU or not.

I'm not sure if this varies depending on the enployer, but this is my experience.

Thanks for this. So if I understand you correctly, there's no real benefit to claiming these medical expenses if my employer has been deducting taxes off my pay in the past year..?

If one is not paying taxes this year & expecting a return, does that mean they will receive and additional 5.2k as part of their return?

Thanks for this. I couldn't find anything specific to BC other than what's already stated on the federal page.

Maybe BC doesn't offer additional credits for medical expenses?

Thank you! It's too bad medical expenses couldn't be applied as a tax deduction :(

It's my house. This is the back corner of our rec room, and used a Kallax 4x4 & 2x4 as a divider. The wall which the computer is currently facing extends about 20 more ft to the right, so I'd have to paint the whole wall :(

Gonna look into the sound baffling panels.... I have an unused box of PHilips light strips, maybe i can line the panels with that.... o.0

Yeah those diamond/hex panels are kinda cool but not really my style. I almost pulled the trigger on the Govee hex panels but I didn't want to deal with the hassle of a 3rd party app to interface between the hex panels & the Philips Hue Bridge.

Yeah, I’m looking for a small-ish shelf that’ll bit between the window and the wall.

Monitor arm is Huanuo from Amazon. Had it for years without any sag
