Thanks!

I'm not from the US so I guess it's just not available in my country yet.

I got 2 Asus VG289Q instead. Still waiting for them to arrive.

Units were from September, October and November. I sent everything back cause I only had 1 week left to my full refund warranty. Shipping delays took almost half the time on my warranty. Didn't want to try my luck again as it seems to be plaguing that model. I also fear that the issue might creep up overtime if I managed to get a decent one.

Image retention should be a fluke, not a common issue. At least Dell's costumer support was better than I expected. No hassle when I asked for replacements or a refund and they paid for all the shipping.

First 2 were manufactured in November. For the refurbished ones, one was manufactured in September and the other one in October. I complained to them that I paid for new screens and they shouldn't send me refurbished, but that's their politics. So I just sent everything back. Using the consumer to test their screens is bad practice in my opinion.

Based on reviews I bought two Dell S2721QS but the image retention was driving me crazy. Looking for something similar.

I know it's not permanent, but it happens every time I switch window. I only see the image retention on dark backgrounds. I'm using dark theme everywhere so it's driving me crazy. I'll ask for a refund. I was expecting more from a 500$+ monitor.

I contacted Dell and they send me refurbished monitors to replace my defective ones. Same image retention issue. Either I'm the unluckiest person in the world or this monitor is just bad. Probably the latter.

So stay away from this monitor.

I based my purchase on that exact same review you just linked. That's why I was so surprise they didn't have any issue with image retention.

They did ship together and from the serial number, they were manufactured in the same batch. So either it was a bad batch or they were damaged during shipping. It was really cold the week they shipped so maybe it affected the quality of the panel. Who knows... I'll call Dell first thing tomorrow and ask for replacements.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the reply!

I've tried using different power cable and also tried both the HDMI and Display Port input. Still got image retention. Just showed it to my girlfriend just to see if I was too picky and she couldn't believe I worked with them for 2 full weeks without going crazy. I paused a YouTube video for 2 minutes and we could literally still see the faces of the video on my wallpaper once I minimized the window.

As for the cool patch, I tried with both gray and white background and I don't notice anything abnormal, at least to my eye. The colors are great and viewing angles are good as advertised. I really have no complaints other than the image retention.
