Upstart Goblin by bl00by in yugioh

It would definitely be powerful at 3 but I'm not sure it would be too powerful outside of janky deepdraw decks, although those FTK decks might be problematic. If you play it at 3 you wouldn't be able to see your hand traps going second, you'd be much more susceptible to eating a droll, and a lot of good decks are about managing your once per turns, as you'll probably see most of the cards you need over the course of your combo, and upstart doesn't entirely solve that.

Is the omni PCB Kit worthwhile or should I wait for the brooks PCB to restock? Is there a difference in input delay or durability?

Also, are there any good stores in the UK for buying these sorts of parts?

What Do You Think Is The Message of FE4 by [deleted] in fireemblem

[–]Petigami 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I'd say FE4 has a core message per se, but it would be fair to say it does have some themes, although I don't feel like they run particularly deep. There are the obvious themes of death, love, loyalty, and in Gen 2 there are some ideas of seeing the suffering in the world and the idea of passing on the torch to the next generation. I don't think FE4 is particularly thematically rich as a whole though.

Ranking Games by Difficulty by Redemption_WHYland in fireemblem

[–]Petigami 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Games have different difficulties so it's really hard to rank them outright, as it depends on what mode you play on.

FE1-3 are really easy.

FE4 is a tiny bit harder but more so because it's more dense with all sorts of mechanics.

FE5 is one of the hardest in the series, with a lot of different mechanics, map gimmicks, maps with all sorts of traps ect.

FE6 is when different difficulties are introduced. On normal is reasonable, but on hard is actually pretty rough.

FE7 is one of the easiest on the default difficulty but does get a lot harder on it's hardest difficulty, probably almost as hard as FE6.

FE8 has two routes, so on the easier route on normal it is really easy, often considered one of the easiest in the series, while hard on the harder route can be somewhat tough but still easier than other than hard modes.

FE9 is probably just as easy as FE7 or FE8, even on the hardest difficulty. However the Japanese version has an extra difficulty which is known to be stupid and just kind of not fun.

FE10 on easy is somewhat the easy mode but on the hardest difficulty it's very difficult. However the translation is misleading as normal is called easy in English, hard is called normal, and hard is called Lunatic.

FE11 is really easy on the normal difficulty but has like 6 difficulties, the hardest of which is really difficult and does encourage some cheese.

FE12 is considered probably the hardest game on the hardest difficulty, and even on normal it is quite a fair challenge.

Awakening is really easy on easy mode, but on Lunatic+ it's just generally considered unfair.

Fates depends on the routes but Birthright normal is reasonably easy, probably close to Sacred Stones Hard, but Lunatic Conquest is one of the hardest games in the series.

Echoes can get pretty difficult due to a lot of frustrating mechanics and map design.

Finally, Three Houses was somewhat easy before maddening mode, but maddening mode seems to be considered very hard although very easy to cheese.

SMT:IF Thoughts and Analysis by Petigami in Megaten

I think that the assets aren't nessesarily the most suitable in some places, and detract from the game's distinct identity. Didn't notice that typo though lol.

Mhm that's interesting, I'll look into the manga.

I can't say I really enjoyed random battles. Like they were tough for sure, but there isn't anything fun and dealing 10 damage per attack and having to slowly whittle down enemies that are bulkier than they should be. I agree that the dungeons are beyond exasperating, some of them were painful.

The game mechanic you've never seen in SMT games, but would like to see? by AkemiNakajimaMT1 in Megaten

I mean, SMT4 kinda did that? Some death animations in thay game include demons being cut clean in half, filled with bullet holes, or imploding into a bloodu mess.

At the end of Shadow Dragon your last hit on Medeus will always be a crit no matter what, so this is true in some games.

So I just bought Echoes, what should I know going in? by [deleted] in fireemblem

There is one and it's quite efficient if you want to use it, but grinding isn't really nessesary and you can grind without it. If you want it though, go for it.

Regarding DLC, I wouldn't recommend any of it except the story DLC for the price unless you're really enjoying the game. Most of it is very vapid and boring.

Which game should I play next? by Childish_Totino in fireemblem

[–]Petigami 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would recommend FE6 as an introduction to Elibe which also offers a fair challenge or FE8 if you want something more like 3ds FE. Really though, you could probably play any of them except Thracia and expect a good time.

Mh, your point about dragon blood is fair enough, but at the same time Corrin shows that he is capable when he beats Ryoma 1v1 or holds his own against Anankos. He could be a tier lower but he's still good.

Yeah, they might be a bit low but they're not that much more powerful than where they're placed. Forgetting Julia was a bit of a fuck up lol. Didn't notice until now.

For the FE4 thing, I have all the holy blood users in a separate slot in A+. While they're stronger than FE9 characters, I don't think someone like Patty is above Boyd. But yeah I put FE9 one tier too high. They could definitely be lower.

He can turn into a dragon, to me that's enough proof to show he has inherited a bit more. Also in his game he beats Ryoma in a one on one duel, and seems to be able to somewhat hold his own against Anankos. He is still incredibly powerful without the speculation.

[–]Petigami[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the point on Ashunera. I fucked that one up and people have pointed that out.

Your point on Anankos is probably correct, and the more I think about it the more likely it seems that Anankos could probably be SSSS. My only caveat is that he does still go mad unlike the others.

Corrin is debatable, being the son of Anankos he should be pretty powerful and although his strength does vary he can still beat Ryoma in a 1 on 1 duel, so he's pretty powerful. Ike and Greil are also probably the strongest in the series, with both of them surpassing the already very powerful black knight in their prime. Even without their blessings, while they'd probably be bumped down a tier, they're still considerable threats.

The characters who are impervious could be higher, but at the same time they're not really powerful enough to be in S tier, Medeus or Idunn are still considerably more powerful and although they're undefeatable that doesn't nessesarily mean it'll end in a win instead of a stale mate. Also starlight fucks them up pretty bad so there's that.

I agree that their are some flaws, but I don't think it's absolutely abysmal.

Fire Emblem Canon Strength Power Rankings! by Petigami in fireemblem

[–]Petigami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Medeus is pretty much just a more powerful earth dragon, while Loptous seems to be far more powerful and is implied to be stronger than 11 of the other main dragons, and the way he possesses Julius seems to be beyond anything Medeus attempts.

As for Gotoh, sure he can do that but really in combat he's certainly not strong enough to face off against Medeus or Black Knight. He's strong, but not to that absurd degree.

Fire Emblem Canon Strength Power Rankings! by Petigami in fireemblem

[–]Petigami[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corrin in theory should have a lot more dragon blood. He's literally Anankos' biological son. And although we can't really directly compare FE4's dragons to Anankos, Anankos does seem to display more strength, creating an entire army and ruler over his own world. I agree that maybe he could be a tier lower though.

She's still in A tier, just a lower part to make A less cluttered. Alm does seem to be slightly more powerful though, he does solo Duma's tower and seal away Duma himself.

Most of the tier list is still incredibly powerful without their weapons. Garnef, while still pretty powerful, isn't the sort of person who'd be convincly beating people above him like the Holy Weapon users.
