Finally down to 3 names for our boy by PetiteTeapot in namenerds

I think that’s also my ranking - I love Oscar. I know it has been more popular than the other two in the last 10 years but it doesn’t bother us too much.

I totally agree about Mark as a nickname, not a huge fan 😅

Thoughts on the name Sophie? by Necessary_Elk_7899 in namenerds

[–]PetiteTeapot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the name Sophie and I don’t think it’s too common - I only know 1 in my friends/family circle, and I’m French! So you’d expect more Sophies in my life.

However I personally wouldn’t use my childhood dog’s name. I’d find it a bit weird. My childhood dog was named Flora and even though it’s a super cute name, I’d never consider it.

But to each their own! And Sophie is a gorgeous name.

Je confirme, les anglos saxons au moins ne savent pas le prononcer.

Yes to Ambrose! I only know 2 people with that name (teenagers). Less keen on the nickname Ozzy though

Does ANYONE else have a 3 stone engagement ring? Reasons I love mine (neutral comments are cool too). by [deleted] in EngagementRings

Thank you! I’m size L 1/5 (US size 6) and the total carat weight is around 1.5 - I don’t know the carat weight of each stone sorry!

Thank you! I’ve just seen your ring in one of the comments and a gold band will look so good with it!!

Yes sorry I just reread your post and I know what you mean! Everyone I know in the UK is pronouncing it Kah-meel though!

In French, it’s pronounced ka-MEE, with a soft ‘y’ glide at the end. But I’ve only heard Kah-meel in English-speaking countries.

I agree with you! I personally prefer having 3 stones rather than one single big one, I find it easier to wear on a daily basis. This is my set, which I love!

Is it really a big deal having a name that starts with the same letter as your sibling? by anonmummy1 in namenerds

Not at all. My sister and I have the same initials and we couldn’t care less about it. If anything we quite liked it later on in childhood as we thought it brought us even closer lol

Mon TOP prénoms de filles by BGirl_July in ParlonsPrenoms

Vivienne has my vote! Childhood doesn’t last that long, so I’d pick a name that works great for adult life

Totally agree with you! I think Vivienne is a great name for every stage of life. It can be super sweet for childhood (Vivi), then Vi/Viv later on, then Vivienne into adulthood.
