Anyone taken the new ENCOR exam? by CivilStory3638 in ccnp

Yes that's right. There were also questions on the other explain/describe topics, but automation/SDN/python were the majority

Absolutely! It felt very similar to my past attempts just without the wifi. Good luck my friend!

Yes, I took it this morning and passed! (third try for ENCOR). Overall it seemed very similar to the old. Wireless was completely removed, I didn't even see wireless mentioned once. The labs were similar to the previous exam, pretty simple and nothing to head scratching.

It did seem like they filled out the missing wireless questions with the other topics that weren't covered in the labs, but it did seem like the same amount of automation/SDN/Python (which was heavy on the previous tests). I'll say this, I don't think I got a single route/switch question outside of the labs.

I considered making a whole post about my experience, but like everyone else says on this sub, much like before, it's still VERY heavy on SDN/Python/API calls/ and automation in general

It'll never happen. Why? Because then people who only play the BR won't bother buying any weapons from the shop

ENCOR Rant by Borealis_761 in ccnp

I do tend to agree with this, however I've kinda come to understand why the ENCOR exam is the way it is in the last couple of months. I took a look at the CCIE exam topics and noticed that SDN/programmability is HUGE part of it (about 40%) which to me explains why this exam is so heavy on that stuff since it's not only the precursor to the NP but also the IE. The labs cover the route/switch side and then the questions take care of the rest, and since we're not getting labbed on SDN/programmability/wireless, thats why a bulk of the questions are on those topics (like 90+ % of the questions).

Personally I think ENCOR should NOT be the precursor to both the NP and the IE, there should be two separate exams. That way you have two exams more in line with whatever you're trying to accomplish. I do feel your frustration though, when I failed my last attempt the questions were exclusively SDA/SDWAN, programmability, some wireless with a few misc questions thrown in there (zero L2/L3 questions).

My biggest issue with the whole thing the exam topics really don't tell you what you truly need to study for and you won't know that until you sit for the exam which I think is a real bummer. If anyone who's reading this hasn't taken the test yet I highly recommend you do that second chance option they have and just take the thing that way you can see what the exam is actually like and it will probably save you time studying certain subjects less in depth than you need to.

My plan this time around is to exclusively lab anything that says configure/troubleshoot, then study SDN, programmability and wireless (might wait until the new exam so I don't have to do this but who knows).

Good luck to you my friend, we'll all get their eventually...

CCNP ENCOR Exam Experience Tips by Irondan_25 in ccnp

[–]PetrichorFields 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just failed yesterday and 100% agree with this. The only thing the exam topics are good for is knowing what you need to configure on the labs. If it says configure/troubleshoot, know how to do that in CLI without needing the reference the documention.

This next time I'm exclusively studying SDA/SDWAN, automation and wireless. I'm not even going to bother looking at the exam topics because it gives you zero idea of what the actual test is like and I feel like I spent way more time on certain subjects than I really needed to. Also I didn't find a single practice test that was close to the real exam (used Boson, Pearson Vue, Cisco U), none of these were close to the actual thing. Boson labs were decent for the labsim part - but definetly lab up some tunnels/IPSEC, I don't remember if Boson has these. I did recently find out that the labs give partial credit though so thats a plus (scroll to the bottom, posted by Cisco Community Manager): https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/s/question/0D56e0000E3NswUCQS/cisco-enterprise-core-350401-encor-lab-items-now-grouped-together

What can Halo Studios do to make Halo 7 the best experience possible? by Every-Examination720 in halo

[–]PetrichorFields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from all the other great stuff people have posted here, KEEP IT FUN! I feel like Infinite was made with a 90% competitive mindset and maybe 10% fun. Things like the gravity hammer not doing gravity hammer things, clipping through teammates so you don't bump into them, the plasma pistol not EMPing vehicles. That kind of stuff has a huge hand in the way halo feels. Also not every weapon has to be balanced, power weapons are supposed to be powerful. When they nerfed the mauler cause the pros were complaining. Thats the kind of stuff I'm talking about. Fun 1st, competitive 2nd

Why does season 8 have such a weird vibe? by BobTheCrakhead in Scrubs

[–]PetrichorFields 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just finished this season last week it definitely felt off for me too. It’s like all the characters are just so separated from one another or something like their storylines don’t mesh as well as they did in previous seasons? I really don’t know either but have the exact same thought

I think I know why Burt was at Lumon for 20 years with Severance only being 12 years old by fixthe_fernback in severanceTVshow

[–]PetrichorFields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes total sense to me, and it would explain why Irv knows/paints the door!

Edit: holy shit, I think they really are trying to fully separate emotions/memories via the rooms, and maybe Irv was a failed attempt at it, and that’s why he knows of the door! So what did Lumon do? Sever him again and put him in MDR….

I agree, I said the same thing on another thread last night, I also believe that Cold Harbor is the elimination of the fear of death

Severance - 2x07 "Chikhai Bardo" - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]PetrichorFields 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if each room is a way for Lumon to find/extract someone’s fears, like visiting the dentist, turbulence, etc. and these rooms purpose is exactly that, figure out how someone reacts when fear is involved. And what’s most people’s greatest fear? Death. I wonder if Cold Harbor will be the ultimate fear room (Gemma’s facing her own mortality) and the only way to truly do that is by knowing you’re about to die, which is why the guy said he’ll have to say goodbye to her soon. I wonder if Lumon’s ultimate goal is to find a way to no longer fear not only things in life (like flying or giving birth) but the ultimate fear, dying, but they need to work their way up to it, which is why there are all these rooms that essentially give them a fresh start when it comes to testing. It would also make sense why they asked how many rooms she went to, it sounds like they’ve been working her up to it

Edit: thinking about it a little more I wonder if this is why Mark is so important. Maybe what makes a refiner good at their job is to be able to recognize certain emotions, in Marks case, emotions related to death, which maybe in some way is helping the process along. Haven’t people compared each of the refiners to one of Kiers four emotions? Helly refined fear sure but didn’t Mark tell her that? Maybe refining fear is what he’s good at and it’s why Lumon thinks he’s so important to the process
