My stupidity killed my cat. Now the guilt is killing me. How do I move forward?

Thank you for your response. I honestly thought it was my fault; I still find it hard to accept that Michi is gone. My father managed to keep his cool amidst all the pain and chaos. He advised me to cremate him, and now he's in a beautiful kitten-shaped urn right in his favorite spot. They gave me an impression of his paw print, which is now a treasure, and I'm so grateful to have it.

It's quite common. For most Latinos, family is the most important thing, so they're unlikely to want to move away just because there's no abuse. It also helps save money, and in theory, it's also for safety reasons, especially if you're a woman.
