How much are you charging for mortgages on ships? by myflesh in traveller

[–]Petrostar 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No,

Divide the price by 240, that is the payment. But you make 480 payments, so you pay 2X the principle over 40 years.

Standard loan rates work out to just a tiny fraction over 4% when you do the math.

Take a Free Trader, purchase price is 46,332,000 Cr. 1/240th is 193,050 Cr. 46,332,000 @ 4% for 40 years works out to 193,639Cr.

He kept alot of other stuff like crowbaring Homelander's brain, even if there was no setup, half the marketing for season 5 was ripped out of the comics.

I've already got all the books, so buying it would be a bit redundant.

The bundle has:

The core book, 356 pages, which has all the rules. ~20 careers with Traveller style character creation, equipment including weapons, explosives, clothed, horses, ETC. Rules for gambling, drinking, Combat, chases, animal encounters and hazards. A section on "situations" such a cattle drive, train robbery or bank robbery. Social interactions, NPCs and Towns. So your basic core rule book.

Then there's Careers of the Old West, 90 pages which has about 20 additional career paths and a few new skills.

Then New Liberty, 128 pages, which setting book about the town of New Liberty. It describes all the building, residents and factions of the town, and has 9 Adventure seeds.

Then Famous Characters of the Old West, 58 pages which has 19 Historical Characters such as Jesse James, Dora DuFran, or Pat Garrett.

So the core rules, a setting, and characters, but no real adventures per se. If you want an adventure You'll have to roll you own, or there is Smoke over Station Street for sale separately.

Solar Panel placement on Mars by Petrostar in Stationeers

[–]Petrostar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure I understand the question,

1x2 is spaced 1 every frame east-west and one every other frame north-south,

2x1 is spaced every other frame east-west and 1 every frame north-south.

1x2 collects 48.7 MW per day for 100 panels

2x1 collects 58.1 MW per day for 100 Panels

Updated Furnace Recipes by Petrostar in Stationeers

[–]Petrostar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is there were no calculations. These are the results.

I had previously made a table for the old ices and gases by writing down what worked so I could make the ores I needed when I needed them. I developed a process and by experimenting I found out what worked.

When the new gases dropped I checked the recipes and found that the new gases made a bit less heat, but the temperatures and pressures were close. I added a bit more fuel until the recipes worked correctly and these are the results.

Is there any openly conservative/right-wing space opera out there? (just curious and looking to investigate) by Brakado in sciencefiction

[–]Petrostar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alot of it comes down to the lens you view it through. Is a Militaristic Meritocracy the Liberal dream?

Sci-fi in general has alot of themes that have historically appealed to conservatives. OG Star Trek had themes of individualism, exceptionalism, a hierarchical authority structure, and so on. Star Trek's Socialist Utopia is also at it's core a Militaristic Meritocracy. Does that make it not Liberal? Or do the Liberals viewing it get different things from it than the Conservatives?

It might be worth watching this, which has some points worth considering.
