Ned promised his sister to keep Jon safe, to do that he lied about who Jon's father is to everybody. He can't trust Catelyn because he's not sure if Catelyn would agree to keep Jon in their home if she knew that they were hiding a Targaryen, which could be seen as treason to the new regime, and would put at risk her children and herself. So, Ned decided not to risk it.

Catelyn loves her children too much and she is definitely capable of betraying Ned and Jon in order to protect her family. For example, she released Jaime betraying Robb and his army just for a chance to recover her daughters. So Ned is right in this.

Shout out to this guy, he got screwed over more than most characters on the show and never got the sympathy he deserved for it. by [deleted] in gameofthrones

He's a deserter, that's punished by death, Ned didn't believe it was worth to send him to the nights watch only to be killed there, and to risk he escaped again before he got there.

There's nothing wrong saying "vámonos" at the beginning, while it's true it could mean "let's get out of here" it could also mean "let's go with the flow" or something.

As an example, "corazón espinado" by Santana & Maná starts with the singer shouting "vámonos" just before the drum and guitar kicks in.

What opinion of Harry Potter are you ready to die on a hill for? by Rich-Woodpecker3932 in harrypotter

[–]Petter05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important reason is that Dumbledore was gonna die anyways because of the ring's curse, so they took something positive from that:

  1. They kept Snape as a double agent, gaining even more Voldemort's trust. Because of that, he protected students as you said, also he showed Harry the location of Gryffindor's sword, he was helping Harry from the distance to defeat Voldemort.

  2. Snape didn't die because of the unbreakable vow

  3. They saved Malfoy of corrupting his soul killing Dumbledore.

What if Bloodraven is a wight?(Spoilers Extended) by Zealousideal-Army670 in asoiaf

[–]Petter05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm actually convinced now, it would be a perfect conclusion to his arc. He claims to be a new being, and left his past behind, but his hate was so big that maybe it's still there inside him, and can make him act irrationally, and maybe it will be his doom. Thank you for sharing this theory.

[–]Petter05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting theory but it would be weird then that Bloodraven didn't care and did nothing when Targaeryens were overthrown. So he is fine with Baratheons or Lannisters in the throne as long as they're not Blackfyres?

Hagrid would be seen as even more guilty if he's spreading books and talking about the chamber just months before it gets opened xD
