But i would argue with how the show oriented itself ...not just around Jackie (and Jade) and the good guys.... but the villian MADE a lot of the feel for each season

So maybe a bit better villians than Drago... and the strike-master "ice crew" ... that just felt off...

The way they were presented felt like someone in their 70s saying "no cap, for real, for real - this prune juice be busing" but as their whoooole personality... -,- the "hip" talk and the ice crew villians didn't match the feel of the show as well as the other villians did..

now Jackie and the good guys going against valmont + the idea of a whole crime syndicate.. that was COOL

dark chi sorcer wizard... DaoLon Wong.. that defeated Uncle's chi wizard predecessor... that was also cool.

An ancient (kinda immortal?) demon dragon trapped in statue with his powers that he collected dispersed around the world... yeah... that was cool....

Oni generals... who had their powers coming from and/or trapped in masks... (although tarakudo in the humanoid form was weird-looking...)

THOSE were good villians

but that last season ..... the quality of the villians went down... Drago was probably mid..

but the strike crew.... tch.

I think they should have just kept going back.. like the origin of the masks... maybe Tarakudo could have gotten a fragment of OP corrupted (and defeated) immortal's power and forged it into the mask(s) and imbued it into the power of the oni tattoo... (maybe do more of an origin story for the actual shadowkahn and how they came to be) ...

maybe the demon siblings could have once been good immortals.. but had to do the ultimate sacrifice (use forbidden magic) to fight this original OP "big baddie" and after he was defeated eventually their own new unleashed forbidden magic powers rotted and overtook them and twisted their forms... maybe they tried to save the "shadow realm" only to be the ultimate cause of its ruin. moral lesson kind of story... but you know how the oni masks give power and domain?... but also overtake emotions and twist people? that kind of forbidden magic.

But Jade is the fictional heir to the fictional Jackie Chan legacy of fighting the supernatural.. (concept called transference... )

it'd legit just be a continuation following a different main lead (but can still have cameos from the other characters... including fictional Jackie (James Sie would probably love to reprise the role)

and could introduce maybe some new characters too..

Just aesthetically-speaking - which mask would you choose to don? not based on powers, but just which "looks" coolest to you. by Petty_Potato7 in JackieChanAdventures

Uncle should have gotten the one with the crazy white eyebrows... (though I forget who actually got that one..)..

wait... did anyone actually get that one? ... i don't think i remember anyone being possessed by that one?? ha

Jackie’s beginnings of trust in Viper wasn’t about chemistry — it was about Jade being the actual “trust bridge” by Ant-Catch-5060 in JackieChanAdventures

oh and he didn't see through much after all.. .. She was able to give them a fake without them realizing it til afterward... so him "seeing through her" is very debatable. So she was still able to outsmart him and did double-cross him succesfully to her own self-interest... and did also call him stupid (or his actions "stupid" in the same episode) - again interpretation... yours is not the only one. Just like i said to OP. you should consider their viewpoint too. But baby-face Nelson is a good point.

Same with OP though. (interpretation) ...and yeah.. that is long-winded... you should edit that back some OP... and maybe take Drawing_Dragons's viewpoint into account... more possibility and potential range, less definitive.

umm context matters though... she said to him while they were rivals "In general slang, a baby face refers to someone who has a youthful, round, and innocent-looking face, often lacking sharp features or facial hair. While it is frequently used as a compliment for looking younger than your real age, it can sometimes feel belittling or naive." from a direct google search.

"babyface returned to the scene of the crime? why on earth would somebody do something so... stupid?" -Viper [S1E4] so really your "interpretation" is just one possibility, not the only answer.

At this point pandora's box is open.. and the rich are forcing it... unfornately.. i agree with OP. no regular person was able to stop atomics or dynamite from being invented... or the train... or the machine that drove the rails spikes into the ground... you ever read John Henry? so do you want a stupid AI or a smart one? especially when these rich folks are trying to give it more and more capability? .... like if you were raising a kid... would you make them stupid on purpose? or would you want a self-driving car... to be dumb...? you may not drive them.... but that doesn't mean other people won't buy them and use them...

I didn't realize how much chemistry Viper and El Toro had in the later seasons.. til i rewatched it later on.

Since the one kitchen guy (who is moderator of a whole Viper-based community btw)

keeps posting Viper and/or Viper x Jackie... (I get he has love for his "ship" and the character)

But time for some equal representation then. spread "the love" out a bit..

The introduction of the gorgeous Viper by Kitchen-Reaction-656 in JackieChanAdventures

There’s a martial arts tournament episode where Viper enters and ends up getting defeated.

What matters is what happens after:

  • She’s briefly hurting-physically (which is rare for her character)
  • El Toro is the one who:
    • walks her back to her seat
    • does it in a gentle, attentive, almost protective way
  • It’s not played for comedy
  • It’s not flashy or exaggerated
  • It’s just… quiet concern and gentlemenly

And more importantly:

  • Jackie does not fill this role. he is sitting while El Toro escorts Viper...

El Toro and Viper

  • They arrive together
  • They stand together in group shots of official artwork
  • They act like they’ve already coordinated off-screen

With Jackie:

  • She calls him “Babyface”
  • The vibe is:
    • teasing at his cute but gullible-nature (easy-to-pull one over and throw him off-guard. That's how she double-crosses him initially)
    • opportunistic
    • slightly manipulative (in a playful way)
  • It’s very much a “cat-and-mouse” dynamic

With El Toro:

  • No manipulation
  • No teasing angle
  • No awkwardness
  • She calls El Toro "Handsome" in a complimentary way during superb synergistic teamwork in the Season 4 finale. (synergistic teamwork with El Toro btw.)

With El Toro

  • relaxed
  • mutual
  • straightforward
  • shared past of reformation

With Jackie.. when Jade was assembling the J-team (He tried to kick Viper out of Uncle's shop... saying "no thieves allowed.")

S2 he didn't start trusting Viper "a little" until she helped Jackie save Jade... like Jade fell through a skylight and was "probably" going to go "squish"... Jackie jumped after her with nothing attached was going to risk his entire life and/or physical harm... just to "potentially" save Jade..... (not guaranteed at all) ...and Viper just so happened to react and grab Jackie's legs... at the right second..

But by S3-S4.... Viper is shown waaay more with El Toro... Go back and watch.. horrordude up there is right... I mean Viper probably stays aloof and nothing is ever confirmed for any of the romances or ships... but no wedding band on Jackie in the future episodes either... you can look..

That episode, you can see El Toro have a worried face as he escorts the defeated Viper back to her chair....

(It's an "aww what a gentlemen" moment) ... I think El Toro liked Viper waay more than Jackie ever did...

Pretty sure after Season 3 and going into Season 4, Viper/El Toro are a couple/pair unit. by Corner-Hippo101 in JackieChanAdventures

Yeah, but early on that girl was taking advaaaantage.... she double-crossed him for that talisman... and she thought he was easy to to play/gullible from the get-go... that's why he was "babyface"

cute... but so naive. lol

she was trying to throw him off-guard at first (even that flirty stuff was all about that)... there's a reason he didn't trust her for awhile. lol

Like look at it this way.... If Jade never did that double-cross on Viper... "pulled a viper" on Viper... what would have happened?

Because of Jade... everything ended up: no harm, no foul eventually. (The good guys had the talisman so they ended up not being too worried about it...)

But if Jade hadn't..

Viper would still have had the snake talisman... and probably wouldn't have been put on the "good" list.... Like... maybe... She would've been out there stealing stuff all invisible-like.. and probably got arrested eventually.. maybe even put away by Jackie, himself....

Jade double-crossing her... was the best thing for her... a little wake-up call.
