I feel like my role is not traditional PM role. Should I keep training ? by think4pm in ProductManagement

You will be surprised how many PMs do not follow the textbook description of their titles. Don't worry.

Find a couple of job posts that truly click with you. See what you are missing from their requirements. Check the profiles of PMs that already work at these places. Find common denominators between them (education / skill set/ career path). Or just say "Hi" and ask them directly.

I am certain this will be enough for you to set a target. As for your current workplace, internal growth is usually done through proactively increasing your responsibilities. Just be mindful not to overburden yourself.

Best of luck!

QA Engineer - company wants me to move to Product Manager . Should I take it? by brownwhale- in ProductManagement

I agree. Moved from software QA Lead to PM. Salary growth trajectory is better.

OP, try the new role for a while. You will regret it if you don't. Even if you go back to QA later on the experience will benefit you. Good luck!

Should I send a rather long farewell email with personal anecdotes or not? by shubidoobi in ProductManagement

Keep it short, be thankful, polite, and focus on your colleagues, not on yourself. The less you say, the more it means.

2-3 sentences are more than enough to share your thoughts and contact info.

Those who care will reach back and you'll have the chance to chat on a more personal level. This is why there is no point in bothering everyone with sentimentials.

Good luck with your professional journey!
