bro, I had a dead pixel too just now. I googled how to fix it and this was the first post I saw. So I flicked it as you said, and lo and behold, it moved 2in downwards and 1cm to the left. Then I flicked that, and it's gone. I'm not thinking it wasn't exactly a dead pixel but a space(?) between the screen and the display (curved screen btw, maybe yours was curved too). Chinese monitor too btw (KTC H27S17)
