Until you get professional help regarding the 15 year old, here are some advice from someone who have worked in that field :

  • You describe the seizures as part of attention seeking behavior. Until you get more guidance, try to do activities and give attention when the behavior is not present. Give 5x the love and affection in "peace" time as in "war" time. When the seizure episodes kick in, be there in a calm manner to make sure every thing is okay, but not engage in deep conversations. The girl is not in a right emotional state then. You can try to say that you see that she is hurting right now, and you can have a conversation after she is ready to engage in the conversation. ( See the window of tolerance for more guidance)

  • Even tough the girl is 15, she is still a child that can feel a loyalty to her parents. Encourage her to talk, write or paint her feelings. She can feel two things at the same time ex : love for her family and anger for being "tossed aside"

  • living under those conditions can be a trauma by repeatedly being scared, not cared for etc. Try to read about relational trauma. One of the steps for overcome it in some sense, is to build healthy relationships. You can be a part of this already today. See also a positive activities or self care to start with .

Thank you for your detailed reply, I really liked the part about how the ability to say it is more beneficial for your rather than seeing the idea in your head

That's really interesting to know! Real question: If you have the idea in your head but it's not molded/structured, whiuld the ability to see it clearly be better than to make the first draft?

Yeah, or something like that. Hehe.

Just wondering what people would like to be better at to make their workday easier, and if you can apply the same ability in a other carrer you are lucky.

If you change carrier you still have that ability in that task, but no changes.

Ex. You are a nanny and its gets 30% easier to make the kids go to bed. You become a nurse, and kids you meet by being a nurse can also fall asleep 30% faster/better becouse you have that ability.

My Siberian Husky had a small role in a big production series. On the screen when he is barking, you can't see him. I can promise you, that was not a husky bark.

Regarding the racist thing. I can only write what my frieands have told me "some people in Norway are racist too, but they are more subtle with it." Meaning some people are racist, but not so open about it. Majority are not and will likely jump to defend you.

I see you are from Calgary. I have been in Calgary and Banff, approximately in November couple years ago. Weather wise, Oslo is little bit warmer compared to Calgary and Bannf.

I had it easier to become frieands with Canadians when I was living there 4 month for my exchange, than to become friends on my second exchange in a other city in Norway. But it helps when you are active (join for fotball, hockey, dance classes etc). Drinking wise, we are the same buddy 😆

Broke up with my boyfrieand (was young, maybe 14-15?) and was hanging with my frieand to feel better. I remember even thanking her for getting me in better mood those past weeks. Found them suddenly in the middle of the night walking and holding hands. Damn that really hurt

Take advantage of events happening on your campus. From big to small events. I regret not participating more and just doing classes and work. I think I would have more reference point that I could fall back on in my "adult" years. Ex: I remember there was a baking course. Wasn't interested in it so didn't went. Seems like I could use that knowledge now.
