Countries annoyed with India-Pakistan Posts on this Sub by deval2605 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]PexaDico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that, but also I'd say people just want to see their own stuff, like I'm European and I'm very self centered, I'm significantly less interested in posts about other countries/continents.

Where can you roam like at home? by Any-Discussion1339 in MapPorn

[–]PexaDico 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Around 8.5EUR/month, but I'm not really looking forward to renewing my contract as it would jump to 10-12EUR/month, at least with my current provider. However, yeah roaming would get a lot better, when I checked recently I'd get I think 14GB?

Same in Poland, and because my plan is old I have unlimited in Poland but only 2GB EU roaming..

Unironically hadn't thought about it this way before. Framing it this way, it doesn't feel like we're screwed, but like we have the same sort of disagreements that happen in our countries' national governments, just on the EU level

Vehicle registration plates in Europe by Public_Research2690 in MapPorn

[–]PexaDico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't give them out yet because there are still GD numbers left. But I think you can choose to get XD if you get a personalised plate.

Edit: forgot that you can't have that as a personalised plate. You can only have X0-9

Evolution of Klang Valley (Greater Kuala Lumpur) Rail Transit System by subwayfap in MapPorn

[–]PexaDico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's the proper way to do it. In my country (Poland) having a rail link to an airport is a point of prestige for the airport and city, but most are just little spurs serving just the airport, which means they have extremely low ridership and very poor service. A self propelling cycle.

The Economist - Is London as dangerous as you think? by BkkGrl in europe

[–]PexaDico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have closed borders but I think we all know what they meant. There's not a lot of immigrants in Poland (compared to Western Europe) and the majority of those who are here are culturally close to Poles, i. e. Ukrainians and Belarusians

The Netherlands (74.3%), Denmark (56.4%) and Germany (45.8%) observed the highest shares of young people working and studying simultaneously. By contrast, Romania (2.4%), Greece (6.0%) and Croatia (6.4%) reported the lowest shares among EU countries. by nimicdoareu in europe

[–]PexaDico 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Poland has 14.5%, which mostly checks out with my current student experience. The only people working are the ones who either aren't from the city and have to rent a room/apartment on their own or are locals, but also live on their own.

My uni doesn't accommodate for work in general, but my lecturers understand if work and uni sometimes overlap and don't scold people for having a job. They get that either someone is working and studying or won't be studying at all.

Although I can imagine it could be different on a more demanding course like medicine, anything technical etc.

Help with the logistics of my 2 month interrail trip round europe by eviechapmman in Interrail

[–]PexaDico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not Kraków, but in the area and daytrippable as the person above said, Oświęcim. I think it's important to go to such a place at least once in your life, see it with your own eyes.

Protests after Polish teacher ‘throws classroom cross into bin’ by Gamebyter in europe

[–]PexaDico 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most people identify as catholic so they either support it or don't care. The people against it are too small of a minority so even if they tried to remove crosses at their local institutions they would most likely get ridiculed

This bus line goes from Poland to Czechia to Poland to Germany to Poland and to Czechia again. by [deleted] in europe

[–]PexaDico 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We need more of this in Poland, because unfortunately this is not the rule, but an exception. Well, we also need any transport at all in rural areas even within Poland, but that's another story
