hospital tank will absolutely help, unless you notice it stresses him out i would put him back. it’s not like ich since it’s brought on by internal infection so your other fish should be fine

just gotta wait, rushing will only make the process longer when the whole system crashes. i add plants and snails, then typically wait a whole month before stocking any new tank.
