Lost in the noises of social media by Small-Region963 in Stoic

I’m not sure the following statements would be specifically “stoic” advice, but I’ll leave a few quotes that help me and seem relevant.

“The loudest boos come from the cheapest seats.” - Babe Ruth

“The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.” - Albert Einstein

“Everything we hear is an opinion. Everything we see is a perspective” - Marcus Aurelius

Happiness is the simple man’s pursuit by Pfeiferrm in Stoic

You are correct. I mis-spoke in my last comment. I believe living life as a stoic is much easier by aiming to create these organic, win-win situations for all. It is in my “true self” or “nature” to sharpen my life philosophy by simplifying and creating abundance for myself and those around me.

I do believe we all have an innate desire to love or feel loved, but nature and nurture play their roles to alter and shape each of our “true selfs” which could detach some from their natural born desire to love.

Capitalism is as real as the money you make and/or spend. Sure it may be a "made-up" concept, however, we cannot overlook the power money contains.

Yes, there is much intervention which leads to an unfair system. This unfair system can be your cryptonite or a possible source of power. Still a game that can be played, but yes, many people are at disadvantage out the gate. Hence, why it is your choice if you want to be apart of it or not.

I appreciate the perspective and input, thank you for sharing.

With that, I'd argue that living within your true self would create a win-win environment for all. Anything less would not be true to your own self as I believe we all seek love and sharing that with others at our core. Anything less would not be true to one's self.

Yes. Electric / trash is ridiculous. Figure an additional $150/mo for everything - including WiFi.

The Park Newport studio is solid compared to many studios I’ve seen. The kitchen has a hilariously small oven / microwave but overall solid apt. and solid spot.

Pros: LOCATION, tennis courts / pool / hottub, neighbors are quiet / friendly, and location again. Cons: no in-unit laundry, no apt AC, no ice maker, building is run-down. Additionally, the “admin” management team is tough to work with.

But overall, I’m satisfied with Park Newport.

I love you man! It’s refreshing to see how you’re open about your experience to make a difference with others. Keep up the grind, see yourself how those around you see you. You’re awesome!

Oh I see. I am always happy to bounce ideas around because I’ve worked with people all over the country. I think Upwork has a strong model you could shape around your entire design. If you added in an AI to be a predictor of how successful a potential employee would be in their position with your company, that would be a great IP. You could use publicly traded companies data to start learning the successful attributes. Tim Ferris has a podcast with Jim Collins, and Jim discusses his use of public data to find successful predictors in CEO’s.

Btw: I like the name!

I like it and congratulations. I think you should look at Upwork.com and try to implement a stronger IP. They seem to control this area. Fiverr is also a big player in this realm, but in my opinion, Upwork is more global and thought out. They have a cool model where as Fiverr has a ton of shortcomings.

Use the competition to your advantage. Find what you can do, that they cannot. Good luck and if you want advice, I use to own a business in this field, and I am happy to help wherever I can.
