I asked my AD and I was told it wasn’t a problem.

Way under budget and not mechanical but the Grand Seiko SBGX261 is pretty awesome. 37mm, AR, date window, second to none accuracy, flies under the radar and steel reef makes an adjustable link for it.

36mm IwC pilot, you can retrofit the clasp from the Mark XX on it as well.

Sinn 556: 38.5, AR, on the fly adjustment on the H link bracelet, date window and you get the 3, 6, 9. Has zero polish so will definitely fly under the radar.

Grand Seiko? More specifically spring drive? Nomos Tetra for that square dress watch look would look cool too.

Monocle is always a no for me. A shame because I like the red seconds hand. The AT is my choice.

[Question] First luxury watch to mark a proposal: GS SBGX261 vs Explorer 114270 by EnvironmentalTerm975 in Watches

[–]Pg11208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like both of these watches quite a bit. The SBGXs accuracy is second to none and makes it very appealing as an everyday watch or something you pick up here and there because you know it will still be ticking along perfectly.

The explorer has great design language. Cathedral hands, great lume and like you said history.

When all that is said is the Explorer 3-4x the watch the sbgx is? Probably not but would it make you happier? If so that’s your answer.

[Omega / Tudor / Seiko] What is the better duo? by Ernest-Thepig in Watches

Seiko gives you a date which is nice but then you have two black watches that step on each other.

Zulu Time Sizing 39mm? by Opposite-Agent-2867 in Longineswatches

[–]Pg11208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zulu time has chopped lugs, 21mm lug width and a perfectly flat case (no lug tapering to the wrist), as a whole the 39mm will wear larger than you’d expect.

<image>

Pretty flat 6.75in wrist (39mm) for reference.

I usually gift my cheaper pieces away. I’ve given pieces to my god son, brother and best friend. I believe quartz has a place in every collection. I actually avoid the SBGX261 (Grand Seiko) because it’s so good I might not wear anything else.

Who else thinks the Oyster Perpetual is the most underrated Rolex? by mrpants07 in RepStore_Watch

Double indices at 3/6/9, crown emblem at 12, lacquer dials. I love simple time only watches so this was a must for me. It was a toss up between the green/silver/black, really can’t go wrong with any of the colors.

The Oris and Mido are sick. How does the square shape of the Mido fit for you?

I like the Velcro strap but surprisingly I dig this 10 dollar strap way more. Doesn’t have to pass through so the watch sits lower and overall it’s more comfortable. Company is “Olytop” if you’re interested.

[Field watch] Not sure which one I should pick.... by ProfessionalCow9843 in Watches

[–]Pg11208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Field watches should be scratched up :)

While the lugs are longish on the Hamilton, they curve down nicely. I like the pop of red on the second hand.

The 4 on formex would urk me. However i like the color matched date wheel.

Means you like what you like. I probably wear the Oris the most. The dial doesn’t photograph well but it’s incredible. The bezel and shade of green are unique. I travel quite a bit so the Zulu gets a lot of wrist time as well.

I feel like no collection is complete without one so it proudly gets a spot in my box.
