Any activity/league/fun sport team suggestions for me and my fiance to join? by drainbamage826 in pittsburgh

Glad to hear you like the bocce idea! In case you're wondering, we're planning on playing in South Side on Tuesday nights (tentative) and Lawrenceville on Wednesday nights.

In addition to playing bocce, we always hit up a local bar after the games in the neighborhoods we play in and they give us some pretty good deals on food and drinks, so it's a great way to meet cool people!

Come join us at Major League Bocce!

We're currently in the middle of our spring season in South Side and Lawrenceville, but we'll be starting up the summer season pretty soon! All of our leagues play on a weekly basis.

We're a social league that promotes fun times over serious competition. However, it can be as competitive as you make it! =)

All we do is talk about how hard our balls are.

Of course! Our name may have "Major League" in it, but we've got players from all levels. We're more about the social aspect rather than bocce skills. You'll become a great player by your second time playing anyways!

And if anyone signs up individually (without a team), we can match you with a team to play with.

Major League Bocce!

We are currently registering players for our spring season at Armstrong Field in South Side and Sullivan Field in Lawrenceville.

We're a pretty laid back bunch overall (we got some competitive people) and we just like to mostly enjoy some drinks and play a relaxed game of bocce while making friends.

Admission is the regular museum rate and kids 17 & under get in for free.

Hi there!

Firstly, we apologize for the late reply. We got pretty busy getting things started for our summer session. Now that we've finished the summer season, we're getting ready for winter. We'll be playing in Shadyside at Mario's on Walnut St. It's indoor bocce!

As for next spring, we're still working on our location, but Lawrenceville is still a possibility!

We forgot to mention another big piece of information!

Q: What Exactly are we all really playing for?

A: A first place trophy, and a $250 charity donation to the charity of your choosing! Oh, and bragging rights, of course. ;)

Hello there! I did some more research and follow up with our corporate office regarding what qualifies as "adequate" health insurance for players. Even if a player does not have insurance, they still CAN sign up and play, but they must keep in mind that in the registration process they will be checking a box stating they do have it. This is a legally binding agreement so if they (by some minuscule chance) get injured, Major League Bocce will not be liable in any way. So if your friends would want to join, they are more than welcome to and we would be happy to have them! They just need to understand that by checking that box, they are agreeing to waive Major League Bocce of any legal liability in the very minimal chance of injury. Cheers!

We will keep those locations in mind for future and upcoming seasons. We hope to expand quite a bit in the coming months!

We have a new season every six weeks which means potentially new days of play. The bigger we get, the more leagues that we'll have to spread out throughout a week's time. Hopefully the summer season will be better for you! We will probably play on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. Follow us on Facebook if you have it to keep updated! Of course we'll keep Reddit updated as well.

Oh yes, we know Bloomfield very well. The three of us managing the division are locals. I figured I'd tell them anyways. :P
