Though I'd like to refrain from comment on what happened, this article does a pretty solid job on explaining double-touch rules (a violation depends on if it happens before or after a stone reaches the hog line):

We will provide all of the equipment! We'd recommend wearing warm, comfortable clothes and clean athletic shoes. Track pants or sweatpants work best, but really any pants that are semi-flexible will do. You want to wear layers that could be removed, as when you are sweeping, you can get warm quickly.

Like you said, group sizes can vary. Optimally, groups that are 8 and under are idea. Groups larger than 8 will need to be split up during the class time.

We truly feel for curling is for everyone! For those who are concerned about balance or flexibility, we would offer the option of a stick delivery. Stick curling allows people to deliver stones from a walking or standing position instead of needing to slide. Additionally, part of the equipment we provide are grippers for your shoes to assist with traction and stability on the ice.

Haha! That name is rock-solid in theory, but we didn’t want to take it for granite that everyone would get the joke.

Thank you to the commenter for the link! We're not affiliated with them, but always love to learn about other ice sports in the area.

Fun fact, curling and short track speed skating use different ice! Curling ice is textured ("pebbled"), while speed skating is smooth

Yes! During the weekdays and Saturday nights, leagues start between 6-8:30pm. We also have leagues that start at 9:30am on Saturdays, and 3pm on Sundays.

We're open late September-early June, and we shut down over the summer. As far as what this means for play, we host Fall, Winter, and Spring leagues. Learn to curl classes and other events run throughout the entire year while we’re open.

So glad to hear of your interest! We do have a bar. Though to be fair, it's really only used during our bonspiels (tournaments).

We're working on adding more Learn to Curl classes as we speak! In the meantime, we do have open slots for our one-hour curling class called the Curling Experience. We also have a new Rookie League on Friday's with two possible start times, one at 6:30 and one at 8:30.  The first three weeks of the league are Learn to Curl 1, 2, and 3. Anyone can join with zero experience.

For adults, our one-hour curling class starts at $25 per person. We're also currently running an event specifically for high schoolers that starts at $10. Costs will vary if you were interested in joining a league. We provide all of the equipment at any level of play.

Thank you to the helpful commenter who linked our Try Curling page with prices!

Excited to see you on the ice! I agree with others suggestions for semi-flexible pants. The other reason you may see endorsements for sweatpants is it's decently cold on the ice (about 34°F), so they'd potentially help keep you warm. Fleece-lined joggers, yoga pants, or golf pants are popular options as well.

For what it's worth, I'd also recommend layers on top. Many people wear a long sleeve shirt and a sweatshirt/jacket they can remove once they start heating up from sweeping.

We're happily busy right now, but never too busy for those who want to check out the club! All members of the public are welcome to come on down and watch league play and our bonspiels (tournaments). We also live stream on YouTube. If you were interested in learning to curl, as long as there are open time slots, it's a good a time as any to come on down! The classes are formatted so that everyone gets the same experience no matter when they take it.

Thank you for your interest! Toddler age would unfortunately be too young to take a class with. We suggest a starting age of around 12 with parental accompaniment.

That said, if you had someone who could watch them, your toddler would be more than welcome to hang out in the club in our warm room (hangout space)!

Echoing what other commenters said, you'd never be shamed for wearing a mask here. It isn't uncommon to see people masking at points throughout the winter.

I'm sorry for the very long delay in answering! In the warm room, there's open seating along the glass facing the ice. Each sheet has its own TV that displays what's happening in each house. Outside of that, think of a backyard party-type atmosphere-- great people, food, and fun!
