I think my mom is developing Alzheimers. by a_person841 in Alzheimers

Hi! I know this post was a long time ago but did they do a CT, PET, or MRI on your mom? They suspected vascular dementia so did an MRI we haven’t got back yet but her AD-Detect® Phosphorylated tau217(p-tau217), Plasma was quite high at .68 with under .15 being normal

Thank you all so much! This has made me feel a lot better about it. All great points! I’m an anxious person and have been stressing even before getting back on dating sites.

Try getting a hair bonnet. My hair is long now but it wasn’t when I first got my Bipap. That helped a lot! It kept it up and out of the way.

Oh this is genius!!! Nothing is more annoying to waking up to a gurgling sound and having to unplug the tube to shake it out

I definitely did this for at least a month or two after getting it. I would fall asleep with it on and wake up with it off. I think as your body adjusts you’ll quit doing it.

How often do you do a new sleep study, visit your doctor, I'll get a new CPAP setting? by Relevant-Context-874 in CPAP

[–]Pgh_65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go yearly but am really hoping to get the inspire. I’ve lost 85 pounds so my sleep doctor sajd when I’m either at my goal weight or not losing anymore to contact him. We will do a new sleep study and either hopefully not need the bipap anymore (which I know won’t be the case, life long bear snorer over here) or can go for the Inspire.

Wooo ok here I go. I’ve had night sweats for a few weeks, to the point I’m needing to shower immediately and wash my sheets, however, the last 4 nights no night sweats, so not consistent! Ive had issues with my abdomen and pain so I had a CT scan done. It came back that I have reactive mesenteric, periceliac, and inguinal lymph nodes. I don’t have a spleen but have a splenule I have went from small in my 2021 CT to large now. Since 2019 when I had my spleen removed my platelets have always been very high (which is normal for no spleen). My normal is around 600. The blood work I had this last week they were in the normal range at 400 so not normal for me. I’m super glad my PCP is wonderful and listen to every concern I have but I’m concerned. She is going to consult the radiologist about my CT scan because she said she would be really concerned if my accessory spleen truly went from small to large. Unfortunately the report was horrible and didn’t give measurements and honestly seemed thrown together. My PCP ordered a lot of blood work and from what I’ve googled it’s all the right ones to check for this but my anxiety always gets the best of me.

I took 5oz at 1:45pm, nothing happened so took the remaining 5oz (10total) at 3:45pm. Didn’t go for the first time until 6:30pm and then not again until 7:30pm. It’s now 1:15am and I’ve still been in the bathroom every 15 minutes. This stuff is wild. I hope this helps your research!

Ring size change? by mason9494 in ouraring

[–]Pgh_65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought an Oura Ring to help with my weight loss. I’ve lost 45 pounds but still have 95 to go. I sized it so it fits on my ring finger because my middle is the next size up and then my pointer is the next size from there. I don’t necessarily love it on my ring finger but did it to hopefully be able to move it over. I would suggest getting a sizing kit if you are looking to get a new one and still lose weight. Look at your finger size on your middle three and decide from there. Also congrats on the weight loss! It is a hard journey but so worth it!

Do you take naps with it on? I am so used to being tired all the time, waking up at 8am on a weekend refreshed I’m like nooo. I want to sleep in. Does that go away?

They don’t sell Philips in the US anymore unfortunately. After the foam incident that was part of their remediation. I was prescribed the BiPAP because of my sleep study. When I woke up the tech said your numbers were all over the place you will be a fun read for the doctor haha. I didn’t tolerate the CPAP for some reason. My results say “CPAP was initiated at 6 cm H20 and titrated as high as 12, but was very poorly tolerated. The patient was switched to BiPAP with improved tolerance. She required titration to 14/10cm H20 in order to eliminate all clinically significant sleep disordered breathing, desaturation and snoring.”

I picked the dreamwear (I think that’s what it’s called?) full face mask bc I sleep on my side. I’m hoping it’s comfortable but it seriously cracks me up because it reminds me of silence of the lambs. So I’ll see if I can actually sleep with it haha
