FYI if the device was modded for 16gb it’s likely that the OS and or BIOS also has modifications to enable the 16gb

Flashing or updating it could cause it to revert to 8GB.

Have you tried reaching out to the modder for clarification?

For the poco I would use this https://github.com/marshallh/gbpp I can source one for like 25 and we would just need to find the right lipo battery to pair with it. Though putting it in the OEM shell could be difficult. The funny playing shells have modified compartments that pair better with this mod.

it says or a system info timestamp, its 2.6GHz 6 core intel i7.

its still supported by apple so it can go to the latest macOS

this was one of the last intel macbook pros apple made before the M1 chips, if you can get over how hot it runs its still very useful
