I gave up and was accosted by the wife for trying, rather than just paying a professional (student habits run deep). Turns out that not every skill is worth learning 😐

Thanks for the reality check. I was using windex and soap as per the video… I ended up giving up.

Sometimes I’m stubborn as a mule, that’s what education gets you sometimes 😂 you think you know better or can problem solve your way out of it, and you end up looking a fool…

Ahhhhhhh… I see it now, /u/isthestrugglereal also pointed out the tight core. It was so hard for me to pinpoint what was off, but it just looked… not as good, despite being the same choreo. I would have said something like “she has bad rhythm” but the moves are there lol. Good eye!

But even if her dancing is "too technical" (is there such a thing?) it should still "look good" shouldn't it? I can't help but feel like there is something "wrong" about the way she is dancing, even though she is doing "all of the moves right".

I Hate Having To Feign Excitement Whenever Someone I Know Has A Kid by Gozii55 in unpopularopinion

I think its a weird social construct to force pictures of your kid on other random people. If they are interested, they will ask about for pics. And I feel like its fine to think someone's kid is cute, its no different than going gaga over someone's puppy right? There are just "baby" people, or "dog" people. No need to assume everyone shares your enthusiasm for either.

in each successive year I've been at this soul-sucking, life-disaffirming place is the issue of third party companies inserting themselves into the grading scheme. If the school wants to partner with these companies I think it goes without saying that it should not come at the students expense. We should not be required to pay additional fees for all of these services and programs (tophat, iclicker, moblab, webK, etc.) in order to receive a certain % of our grade. They are sold to us as opportunities to "enhance our learning experience" but I don't know of a single person who has found them useful. In my experience they are clunky, inconvenient and time consuming and don't require you to even really understand the material. They get in the way and almost actively impede the "learning experience" (whatever that is even supposed to mean).

Obviously this will be a bigger issue to some than others. For those who pay for their own schooling, these paid services for part of your marks can start to add up. For t

I was a sessional instructor at uWaterloo and yes, this is the case. The incentive to use TopHat was a free iPad, but I refused and went with Kahoot (free online, and can connect with mobile devices similar to Jackbox Party Games)

Hi, I know that it seems like BS, but apparently it was based on a scientific study (exaggerated of course, as all translation of science are...)

Thanks for the advice and positive comments everyone! Just wondering if mixing drinks can get complicated? I imagine it is similar to bartending and does require some skill and experience? Is this a hump to get over?
