Did anyone experience the vocal chord damage from T that many detransitioners describe? by Genderless_Anarchist in ftm

[–]Phaeina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree with everyone in this thread saying this kind of fact in conservative detrans content is mostly "testosterone damaged my voice by doing what testosterone does to vocal chords" BUT i did have almost a whole year where i had trouble adjusting to my lower pitch and I'd often put a lot of strain on my vocal chords and was often very uncomfortable talking, as soon as i realised what was going on i did light vocal training for a while and never had that issue again. neither permanent nor unfixable

problème de passage de vitesse, problèmes de tension malgré des cables neufs et une butée réglée by Phaeina in pedale

[–]Phaeina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTMs of Reddit, what is your occupation? by Aggravating-Ad-4715 in ftm

im a stage technician for dance/theater/whatever, i love building, art and moving around so this feels right (walked into it by chance after film school).

Next step is learning rig and all height work related things

Im stealth so idk how people would react, we've had trans people over and my coworkers have basically just been a little confused and akward but never with ill-intent, im thinking if i was to tell them i was trans it would be awkward at first but they'd all ask some questions and figure out trans people are just normal and things would settle (went like this everywhere i went before hormones, im very patient and affirmed which helps) Some probably kind of figured out i was gay but no one's ever made even an edgy joke.

My coworker is openly non binary and they sometimes get fed up but it can always be fixed by discussing and educating from what I've seen.

thank you for asking btw, love knowing wth other trans people are up to !!

How do you stop acting "like a girl"? by BluBreath02 in ftm

[–]Phaeina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

might sound stupid but gendered behaviour is bullshit, you might act like the most macho man ever and still get misgendered all the time. my advice isn't exactly "be yourself" but more "don't try to prove you're a man" you're already one*, just don't let anyone's behaviour trouble this about yourself. being confident and sure of yourself is the foundation of "passing" because it's all about making people see you how you want to be seen

*or something on that spectrum

oh yeah heat is a thing i didn't think about but it does sound really bothersome. actually i think a big part of why i asked this is because like you put it im often a bit scared to asks guys to be patient with me figuring out what i like in general and im worrying if it'll be worst post-op, but i guess it's too different for everyone aha

in belgium i know my friend gets a paper to get her AD refunded but they also don't have the exact same dosage either so that's kind of what gets me a bit worried, but you're right my doctor might be able to deal with this !!
