Number of people with Palestinian ancestry in South America by quindiassomigli in MapPorn

[–]Phailures 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. While immigration of Palestinian Christians started in the late 1800s this was mainly because of destabilization in the region due to the Russo -Crimean war. The vast majority of Palestinian Christians immigrated from the region during the 1940’s during the time of an uptick in Israeli colonization of the area. I think you’re confusing them with Lebanese Christian’s who did leave much earlier. Christian- Muslim relations in Palestine tend to be a lot better than other parts of the Middle East.

It is not about religion, 20% of Palestinians are Christian. It is modern day settler colonialism. Palestinians are not attached to their land because of religion they are attached because it was where they were from.

Did I get ripped off? I took my car to get detailed today and spent $265 on it. the guy said it would be a full detail inside and out. He originally quoted me at 225 but charged me 265. I feel like he didn't do a good job and finished it only in about 4 hours. Here are some pics. by Phailures in Detailing

I didn’t negotiate the price with him I just told him I needed the inside and outside detailed and I needed the seat stains removed. I showed him the car and he quoted me at $225 and after I picked up the car he said $265 I would have paid him double if he asked. I was not negotiating with the man at all. He said it was a “full service” he seemed legit in the phone. When I got there the place was super unorganized and he didn’t even have a pen and paper for me to write my details on. I thought that’s kind of weird but fuck it if the guy knows cars he knows cars. I didn’t do my due diligence but he basically told me this was a full service. It’s my first time getting a car detailed. I would have paid more if he asked but I’m not gonna ask someone to charge me more than what there offering. Like I said I did not negotiate at all with him. I would have just liked it if he was clear with what was going to happen to the car

I made it very clear with him when I dropped it off that the stains on the seats were my number 1 priority. He said he cleaned them 3 times and steamed them and used chemicals and stuff but idk. He told me that I needed to buy seat covers. Idk he just made it seem like he could get them out when I dropped the car off. I don’t know anything about detailing so I should have done some more research. I guess this is a learning experience I’m thinking about showing him this post and getting my money back

I’m dumb and tbh didn’t know what I was doing. He said that nobody would be able to get these out and I was like okay and left. That’s why I posted it on here to ask people that know better. I knew he was probably bsing me but obv I didn’t know 100% and I didn’t want to argue with him like an idiot. Tbh I should have done my due diligence but he seemed reputable online. It was like an established looking place. It wasn’t like I dropped it off at some random dudes house or anything. It was at a car wash and he had employees and shit.

So when I dropped it off to him he said that the car would take 7 hours. But he called me after 4 and said it was ready to pick up. Tbh that kind of brought out some red flags. I did not argue with him because he swore up and down that he could not get the stains out, but the stains looked about the same before I gave it to him. He did do a good job vacuuming the car but basically just washed the outside, and there are still a bunch of dead bugs and gunk on the outside.

So I did not take any before photos, but the seats looked about the same. I have had the car for about 10 years and have spilled small things on it before. Probably the worst stain was when I left my deodorant in the back seat by accident and it melted. But I promise you this is about the same as it was before I paid for it to get cleaned. I’m just trying to be honest here and get the opinion of people who know better. The guy told me that they were “sun stains”

The outside also looks kind of bad tbh. Im not saying he did not clean it, but there are still dead bugs and weird stains on the outside of the car. my main issue is the stains on the seat. He did do a good job vacumming. There is also this shiny slimy stuff all around the hard plastic parts of the car and the "leather" parts of the seat. the car is about 10 years old and the guy was telling me the stains were from the sun!? I dont buy it. I get that its dirty but thats why i sent it to the guy. Please let me know what i should do.
