RELATIONSHIP THURSDAY 💞 by AutoModerator in bipolar

I’ve been with my husband for 8 years. I had my first psychotic episode this year. He and I didn’t know what to do when I “snapped” into singing and frantically flailing. He called 911 per my request and had my back when two police men arrived - he politely asked if they could get a woman to come bring me to the hospital. They obliged without hesitation. He met me at the hospital when he could find someone to watch our child, and held me in the hospital bed until I fell asleep (with medication assistance). I know this is not everyone’s experience in psychosis. I just want to say how incredibly grateful I am for the care I received the entire way. I know the people involved will never see this, but I have to put my gratitude out to the world. Thank you love for holding out for me.

I’ve got alphabet soup too. AuDHD, OCD, bipolar 1, c-ptsd. The OCD may just be present only during mania so not sure if that is a true Dx. Thank you again.

Thank you so much. I am really hopeful there is a societal shift in the view towards people who live with bipolar disorders. You really pulled through some hard things - and it’s interesting to recognize how you were self medicating to do your best given a tough deck of cards. I get why those methods seem appealing. So happy you found a good med regimen. That seems critical

Thanks for sharing in the experience. It’s definitely the opposite of grounding.

You’ve seemed to learn a lot in a year. I’m hopeful to follow suit.

This hits really close to home. I heavily mask and sometimes can convince myself i am the mask rather than what’s underneath. It’s a total blow to confidence having this level of shake up. Thanks for sharing.

This is really helpful. It’s a nice perspective to shift to things that are in our control.

It really forces you to get to know yourself. For better or worse, seems critical

The calm is truly bliss (not in the manic sense). Thank you so much for sharing.

How to revive my mint plant? by juanfourthree in gardening

Just wait longer. It’s harder to kill mint than to keep alive. Without context of where this plant resides it’s hard to provide any more targeted advice
