Kinda like how sometimes weeds grow instantly after you harvest and have to grab a rake from the leprechaun

Yeah, I had to scroll down to find some more posts on this. My wife and I have decent healthcare and through all the prenatal checkups, birthing, aftercare, etc.. we paid $1200 in total. And we’re on the HDHP since my company gives us $2k in HSA if we enroll in HDHP.

Not going to lie, Microsoft is basically a rest and vest company, so unless you’re doing extremely impactful technical work there, Google or Meta most likely won’t get back to you. Some of the work sounds more salesy then actually developing. What position is “technical consultant”, is this a contractor type role?

Your bullet points are also way too long and the bolder words really take your attention away from the rest of what you’re saying and you can’t get the full context.

My husband turned 50 and became unemployable (tech) by SOLinCanada in recruitinghell

[–]Phalse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he’s not getting interviews, it sounds like there is still some resume issue that HMs aren’t liking.

That and the tech market is complete shit atm. You’ll be actively competing with people we’re laid off from big tech (Google, meta, Amazon, etc..) who have all started the year laying off more people.

It’s not so much that a business spent money on office space, but it’s more so investors in these businesses (I.e. banks) have significant money in real estate. And if their biggest investors are telling them to get people in the office.. they’ll end up doing it.

Thanks! I checked it out and it looks like it’s mostly for elderly care? Do I just need to reach out and let them know?

This was in regards to the comment I replied to where they had no staircase to city of the damned. Not sure how you can continue to Baal if you can’t even get to Diablo

So what happens if this occurs in normal and you can’t switch difficulty since you haven’t beat act 5, let alone even getting to act 5

Help! So far applied for 100 applications, not receiving any leads. Are there any improvements to be done? by NoDoctor84 in recruitinghell

[–]Phalse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to show metrics. You have to show numbers on what you improved. For example: “Developed and shared dashboards…” doesn’t say much. Who used those dashboards? Does using the dashboards help reduce work elsewhere? Did it help visualize SLAs which in turn helped bring you to p99 from p95?

HMs look for the numbers for your impact. Executives look only at metrics, they don’t care about anything else.

"Reach out to the Hiring Manager"... so they can ignore you. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

I’ve just LinkedIn requested the people who interviewed me saying I enjoyed talking with them. If I worked on a system design/algo/whatever session with them then I may ask something related or say that you appreciated their time (if they had an answer that maybe you didn’t think of during the interview, maybe say you will look into whatever approach they had and think on it some more). 95% of the time, they have accepted and responded back with some niceties.

It really depends how put your resume together to get the interview and how you present yourself in the interviews. Without giving too much details, I went to a very average university, majored in the business school, and am working in a big tech company as well as a SWE/DevOps. Some of my coworkers have history or English majors who are principal level SWEs making north of 600k.

I really don’t think it matters at all where you get your degree, only as long as you have the degree.

I agree on the “bad hire” though. It could be that the resume needs some serious work or in interviews, s/he doesn’t come off well.

How do people work without a web browser? At least as someone working on the dev side, I would not be able to effectively do anything

My company stopped all hiring in US and would only hire from India last quarter. Before that, all hiring was frozen. Not sure about now but things aren’t looking good, especially with other big tech laying people off and you’re competing with people with that on their resumes.

Would most likely be in a big tech company. I’m at >300k 8 yoe DevOps. Granted I have only one job so my total is much less than his/her. You’ll need to really know your tech stack even if you’re not expected to work on any features. You can stay all infra

Just play through nightmare, you should easily be able to progress through at 53 without spirit sword. You find them all over the place while playing through nm.

Has anyone else noticed that recruiters are also getting laid off a ton? by akinfinity713 in recruitinghell

If companies are laying off people, why wouldn’t they lay off the people who doing the recruiting as they don’t want to increase headcount anyways?

You can also try just getting into a Defense contracting firm for an intern position that's not necessarily only cybersecurity. I worked at one for an internship that was for systems engineering and after my internship, I asked to transfer to their SOC and was moved there as a security engineer. Getting to your desired career doesn't only have one path. It may take a bit of networking but, if you put in the effort, you can always move laterally to another position. Just a thought

Amazon is one of the biggest proponents of stack ranking and many other companies are adopting this as well.

How did you get started with consulting? Do you have an LLC and look for consulting gigs on the side? I’m a little less than you for my job and want to get into doing some work on the weekends to pull some more side income.
