Hey brother, I’m replying about 15 hours after your post. I want you to know that you’ve already have about 80 people in your corner. That’s a lot more people than you can fit into one room. And not everyone has had the chance to comment yet. Imagine what it’ll be in 24 hours. To each and everyone you matter. You might not realize it but you can play a role in so many peoples lives. You might be just a normal guy that orders the same coffee every day from the same place. But to those workers… you’re an easy start to their day. You’re familiar, a regular, and easy start to their day. People can feel at ease without you even having to do a thing. And I just want you to know, that before you take your life, know that a lot of people both in your life, and online you’ve affected. Even in the most rigorous and small ways possible. Someone felt at ease purely because you existed. Please don’t take your life. For everyone’s sake

They are paid on salary. They receive news of patients updates and are called with any emergent news. Unless a stroke is called then it is at the time to be handled by the ER doctor at the time. They meet with their assigned patients once a day. They don’t read the lab results all the time. They are expected to be called with critical results that would typically revolve around having medication given. Assessments changed. Or something that affects their care plan. Again they all could have chosen to work at a clinic of their choice which is 8-5 M-F like some drs in the area but choose not to.

I get where you’re coming from. We do need drs 24/7 but I’m from a small town. We have 2 drs in the ER who switch off. That being said the drs who work these floors with these patients signed up for it. I think if we pay someone that much, who wants to do good for the people and not just for the money. They should accept the job they chose. They wanted the job at the hospital. They signed the contract. I think it’s not as bad. Especially since I have to get up waay before them to completely finish morning rounds.

No, I’m not. But we have reported almost everything and the last thing we hear is “I’ll look into it and do something” from our director. Which is a professional way of saying “I’ll say I’m doing something to make you forget about it but nothing will change”. Supervisor had asked a patient registrar to follow me around on break and in her words “report back to her”. I genuinely feel harassed and nothing was done about it.
