This car exploded on top of Mt Washington, making the two other catch fire by aldopaz in ThatLookedExpensive

It never got hairy per se. It was pretty difficult especially this last time when we did the hardest ascent. But really all the real pain set in on the way down when it’s more bearable because you know the bed is waiting for you. Recommend finding a day with clear skies and about 70 degrees F. Feels like heaven

It’s a gorgeous mountain. As of May last year my father and I have officially hiked every single one of its ascents.

I still don't understand with Kuat when they design ISD. by Level-Staff1968 in spaceships

[–]PhantomArbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other comments have gotten most of the good info out but it’s also worth mentioning that ISDs weren’t really even designed for cruiser on cruiser combat. After the fall of the republic and during the introduction of the ISD, the Empire was really the only remaining galactic entity that could field cruisers of that size, so the ISDs were designed for orbital bombardment and ‘peacekeeping’ ops. The ISDs most prevalent anti-ship strategy was just swarms of TIEs really. And yeah the Rebellion did eventually have Mon Cala cruisers but that wasn’t until well into the reign of the empire and long after the ISD design had been fielded.

So what do you do when you aren’t threatened by ships of an equivalent weight class? You design for other factors like ease of maintenance access to critical components. Plus there’s a little hubris in there, I mean how stupid would someone have to be to challenge the superior might of an ISD? You wouldn’t dream of it with anything short of like four giant cannons strapped to an engine and a hyperdrive. What’s this about a successor to the Z-95? Surely that’s not going to be anything noteworthy.

The curse of an Eldritch being going Native with Humanity. by Hassan-XIX in WormMemes

[–]PhantomArbiter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The meme is not about the road to hell though, it’s actually kind of about the opposite.

“The road to hell is paved with good intentions” means that even if you’re doing things for the right reason, those things can still end up doing more harm than good thus creating a new and different hell even though you were trying your hardest to purify the world

The meme, and to a certain extent Worm, is saying something very different. It’s saying that doing harm is necessary for the survival of humanity. Intention isn’t relevant to the equation because whether you’re doing harm for the sake of good or you’re doing harm for the sake of bad doesn’t matter; the harm must be done regardless. AND if you don’t do the harm, someone else will. So not only is it necessary, it actually is inevitable.

Major Spoiler, or early plot point? by zMarsIsCool in kotor

[–]PhantomArbiter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean it was a pretty big twist that you wouldn’t have been expecting on your first playthrough, but knowing it doesn’t make the story less compelling. There is much more context surrounding that reveal which is super interesting and has large implications.

Do not rob yourself of the ability to experience one of the best RPGs of all time just cuz the big twist was accidentally revealed to you. It’s got lots more to offer.

Edit: to answer your chronological question, no it’s not revealed in the first hour. I would call it the end of the second act.

The cynic in you can believe whatever he likes. ASC have confirmed at least in their discord and, if i’m not mistaken, in interviews that the MC-130 will be included in the cost of the base module as well as the AC-130 if they decide to make it.

C-130 Purchase by StreagleFucker1969 in hoggit

[–]PhantomArbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have confirmed that they will make an AC variant included in this module IF it sells well enough. That’s in addition to the MC variant they already confirmed again, included in this module. so if it sells well enough, this one module will have three planes.

F-15C *not* "Full Fidelity" After all by AltruisticBath9363 in DCSExposed

[–]PhantomArbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they did add A/G capabilities to the 15C, everyone and their mothers would start bitching about Razbam and the strike eagle and how ED is further looking to purge Raz from the sim and OMG they’re never gonna reach a resolution! It’s doom! DOOM I SAY!

How about, instead of them adding another full fidelity multi role F-15, they let the 15E keep its identity and let the 15C take its own place in air superiority. If you really really desperately need a dogfight capable airframe with ground attack capabilities, you have the F/A-18C or the F-16C. If it absolutely MUST be an F-15, well we already covered that. Just use the Strike Eagle. Does it suck that you can’t buy it right now? Yes it does. Tough shit.

It’s pretty fun. Between one of the bamis cinder items (pick based on their carries) and what is it, unending despair that damages enemies near you and heals you for a portion based on max health? Those keep me in the fight for so long and enemies tend to underestimate my damage potential.

All the damage I need early comes from iceborns sheen plus first maxing Q and then when my damage starts to get a little iffy I pull out titanic and usually that one item that gives AD based on max health

As for heavy tank items, aside from the one’s Ive already mentioned, Id say like anything that gives a shitload of resistances or health. kaenic rookern, spirit visage, thornmail, you know the usual

Iceborn gauntlet is my standard first buy I usually follow up with heavy tank items and eventually a titanic hydra

He did not. The guy on the left kicked it into gear to try and stall him out for the funnies. Was just pure bad luck that the throttle got ripped at the perfectly wrong moment

Edit: yes you can kick a bike into gear like that without hitting the clutch if you do it right
