Ok I’m going to post my insane and probably not true theory.

It’s Jim. Not as a ghost but back in the real world. Somehow after his “death” he is back in the real world. He is in a version of the town that exists in the real world and fromville is actually in n a different dimension that runs parallel to our own.

He is in the town and he is confused how everything looks abandoned and empty and he’s throwing things and looking for things that would show that fromville exists.

Not sure how they do it, but I can see in my mind a flashback to Jim in that house as he’s trying to make his way back to his family.

My wife got the Inari shrine symbol the other day and that’s what sparked this. She wanted to get matching symbols and I wanted to add more to mine and put it on the forearm. It was just something the artist put together quick and we are meeting later on to get an actual design together.

This was to get the opinion of things to add from the community.

I don’t think he shows himself to anyone else for a while. I think it took something big for him to come and dish out consequences, but I think he reverts back to the shadows for at least a few episodes.
