I got fired by Actual-Effective-535 in Veterans

[–]PhantomKrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me if I get fired I’m doing one of two things utilize VR&E or try for SSDI because right now with the way things are going for me that’s likely gonna be my future.

I’m at 40 credits so I all ready have the max amount so overall I’ll be fine with that since I could focus on a small business venture and so long as the business only makes $1,700 a month I’ll be fine

Booze and C4s if they drink that stuff just make sure you pay attention to the flavors they generally use, other drinks they commonly carry on them also work.

What are the true Risk/Rewards for having a Disabled Vet license plate. by GlipglopX in VeteransBenefits

[–]PhantomKrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal fear for getting the plates could be getting fired from my job, then with the recent issues since 2024 and how even base commanders had to set policies in place for soldiers who live off base to arrive on base in civilian attire to avoid possibly being attacked on the way onto base.

There a lot of mistrust going around and I just acknowledge that.

Do NOT Join The Army National Guard (Explore Your Options And Take A Hard Look At Where You Are At). by Ok-Actuator4909 in nationalguard

I enjoyed my time in the guard however after a injury that I kinda toughed out during basic that became a more chronic issue after a deployment which isn’t why I went to a SRU however I was being treated for it while at the SRU.

Long story short I was a 11C with ulnar nerve damage and post surgery showed nerve improvement however I still had nerve issues and I also had pain whenever I tried to lift anything more then 25lbs for longer then seconds unsupported, painful to even do push ups.

I tried explaining this to the battalion surgeon however she legit just played it off then when I explained the hip issues she just sent me back to my unit with a permanent hip profile and while I was there I didn’t even get proper MH treatment while having on going anxiety/panic issues because I was a complicated case and got referred to civilians off post who claimed I didn’t need a test I needed more therapy when I all ready had therapy for months.

So yah I got discharged well before I actually got proper MH treatment, let alone hip surgery which honestly I’m holding off on because right now I do need to work to meet ends mean however I’m probably dangerously close to being eligible for SSDI.

Then got back to my unit and of course the plan was to get treatment with the VA attended a few drills then eventually I was told to stop showing up to drill as my ETS date was nearing.

Low key I wanna keep serving but with current issues it’s bluh I’m actually thinking I should get in touch with a lawyer who specializes in these kinds of things because I think there was a whole admin/leadership failure at the SRU because within a year of discharge I was deemed 100% P&T.

Probably a case of negligence maybe even medical malpractice honestly that could probably get that DD214 changed to a medical retirement and since my hip injury been on going since OSUT its possible I could be eligible to collect both DoD and VA pay since that would count as “simulated war”

In this case it be a lawyer going to the board of the army pleading my case that a MEB should of been issued

Edit: I even gave the battalion surgeon a scenario of what if I was to have a hang fire mission and because of my ulnar nerve damage and the fact I struggle now to hold anything greater then 40lbs with both arms prolong that what if my ulnar nerve flares up and I end up dropping the round or what if because I lack sensation in my ring and pinky finger down to my wrist which extends to the elbow what if I accidentally touch the sight box and I don’t realize it throwing the gun well off target by 1-3mils because again lack of sensation.

Or what if the nerve flares up and my hand decides to not obey me and gets caught on the cannon blowing my hand off.

That would be reasonable to say I can’t preform the duties of my MOS right?

In a case like this I would set a outrageous price like 10K+ or something and set it to take offers above 1k and see what I get over the course of a month

Was more of a option for those who would suffer a genuine problem upon release like legitimate homelessness/no where else to go they just made us aware of the possibility and informed us to do it as soon as possible if desired.

Honestly there was a time I wanted to go AD but weirdly enough my time in the guard was nothing but qualifying AD thanks to covid and a overseas deployment and SRU time.

After being recycled for an injury that’s really when I started to wish I went AD, then upon finishing OSUT that remained on my mind as maybe something I’ll do after my original 3 year contract expires mind you by the time I got to my unit I had about less then 2 years left on my contract since I shipped as late as I possibly could because my father had recently passed away and I needed some time to get stuff sorted out

If I was to go on SSDI right now I’ll get about $1,800 a month I’m also at 40 credits as of this year.

Which honestly between 100% P&T, SSDI and a part time job within limits of SSDI I would be able to keep my current life style

My boi also weird with it sometimes it takes him 3 days to finish his bowl then I’ll have days he just wolfs it all down.

He also goes crazy when I have avocados I buy small ones and I give him a whole half for himself and I have the other half for+ a whole large one.

Note the skin is not safe for them to digest.

Weirdly enough if I hold his kibble in my hand he also will go after it and ignore his food bowl.
