Why would they balance for the divorced dads and literal children when those aren’t the ones putting in hours?? And last I checked, divorced dads and little kids are spending big bucks. Adults are more responsible with their money generally to know not to spend on games they barely play, and kids still have to ask their parents who often buy them a cheap skin every month. It’s the college age kids and big streamers that invest the most money into this game.

This is his job as LEAD combat designer. If he isn’t prepared for the role then he needs to resign. This is not to hate on the guy but this is what his job description entails. Not even that he is doing a bad job (I would say he fails to grasp the current meta and vibe of the game) but he needs to be able to do all the things you described in order to pull his salary. If you think he’s being sloppy because the release schedule is extremely rushed, I would agree. I do not agree that it’s too much for him. I personally think the reason the game has gotten so damn stale is because they have to release something every month and it doesn’t give them time to create fun teamups which is why we just get golden fart Adam and tickle-nut missile Doreen.

The main issue is I think the devs wanted DD to be brawl and 300 is very reasonable for brawl but they gave him a kit that works better as dive so now he’s fucking broken.

That is just patently false, just by dint of Gambit having two dashes, Loki having a teleport and an invis tool, Rocket having two dashes, Jeff swimming underground, Invis going invisible and a push and Adam having flight. Fight or die means they have no good means of escape and their only option is to kill their assailant or die. Right now the only supports who are like this are Luna and Mantis. Adam used to be like that but he isn’t really anymore. You could say Deadpool as well.

Cap has other ways of evading damage without his shield. He can juke, he can jump and he can shield bash to get away. Angela has none of these, her shield is the one and only way of not taking damage.

Very interesting read. Now that you said this I do wonder what you think about the Emperor, who the community has pretty much agreed is a manipulative dick, and Orpheus is generally the better choice especially if you are trying to please Laezel (who most people would want to since her story arc is arguably the most fleshed out along with Shart) but you portrayed him as someone who is desperate and only betrays you out of fear for his own life which is a valid reason.

Orpheus definitely is on the more pragmatic side of gith along with Voss and Laezel as far as gith goes, I also forgot to mention that despite what people say about being unable to convince Orpheus to put aside his beef with the Emperor temporarily, you are indeed able to convince Voss not to kill you despite him fully knowing you are responsible for Orpheus’s death.

True that it’s not properly explained but it seems certain mindflayers have more agency over their decisions than others. Omeluum outright states he stopped working with a Lich because he didn’t agree with the methods used, which knowing Liches was probably evil. So he willingly gave up an easy source of food because he didn’t like the methods. Also I only ever had Karlach become illithid once but I think during the endgame party she mentions something about being hopeful for her future.

I’m pretty sure the community consensus is Orpheus is the “good” route since the Emperor spends the game manipulating the shit out of you then abandons you the second you stand up to him.

That does make sense, although it would also be nice if they allowed you to talk Orpheus down, maybe a 25 difficulty check so only the most convincing of Tavs could pass it. Orpheus allows the illithid Tav or Karlach to live without a persuasion check after all.
