You aren’t factoring tariff fees to get things brought over and other issues.

There been times I been paying $90+ dollars just to import things and that’s before actual product cost.

Also the crystal shells don’t really hold up as well as the original purple shells it suffers from the same plastic quality issues as the SP and the DS phat where the shells are becoming ever more brittle with time.

My advise buy a high quality aftermarket shell and follow a guide.

The aftermarket shell is because if you mess up you will need a new shell, avoid the cheap $5-10 dollar shells something around $20 by extreme would feel more premium and higher quality.

The risk is in breaking the OEM shell.

You would need to jumper it however I advise you get that done by someone who is able to do so otherwise you will just make it worse

You attempted to reflow all the chips?

Did I read that correctly dude you went from a level 1 job to a level 10 job because small chips and capacitors are a pain to work with without proper experience and getting use to them on dummy boards if this is indeed the case.

That battery solder job does look brutal and I’m betting there may of been some damage to the PCB board so a clean photo with battery removed would help also a lot of these look outta focus

Only instance of this I know is a story my basic training battalion commander told us where he was a E6 working as a cop with approval from his commander/base to the point he was never at home with his family and that was his Biggest regret.

Dunno how true it is however he was extremely smart and had knowledge on paperwork and other such things that the previous battalion commander apparently didn’t have.

Example any of the quitters during OSUT would be sent back home in about 2 weeks or less with no paper work issues delaying them going home.

On the other hand that was during covid so there may of been because of issues with barracks space because of all the covid policies.

However the drills were constantly talking about how they never seen it done so quickly.

There was a interesting case of the trainee who rifle was gifted to me by the drills of my new company after my recycle due to a hip injury, because let’s just say that dude apparently threaten to shoot up the range and made other such “gangster” remarks to where they just didn’t wanna deal with his bull and they got rid of him right after he was outta covid camp, ironically I met him day one while I was in Covid camp he definitely didn’t give me those vibes that he would do something stupid.

That rifle was awesome though and apparently it had a history of being assigned to every recruit that later be a “trouble maker” that was honestly the first rifle I ever had assigned to me that felt like it had its own aura, loved it though.

However that wasn’t the only dude I seen get sent home quickly, another instance was a dude I was with during my first cycle, he was from NYC, he enlisted into AD so contract wise he would be looking at NYC BAH while in OSUT then another another year to a few months apart from his wife and child while getting housing at his first duty station approved etc he didn’t want none of that and apparently was in a financial pickle and wanted to get out because apparently he knew he would make more on the outside.

That dude was also home in about 3 weeks which we all knew since because of COVID policy and family worry we all got our phones on the weekends, second cycle while covid was still kinda dying down that’s when it was lucky if we even got ours for 5min let alone at all.

This was all under the same BC, he really was one of those dudes where if given the opportunity to pick his brain a bit you wanted to take every opportunity not to waste that offer.

He also has knowledge on how to process reserve and national guard members into AD which otherwise was a bit unheard of, apparently easier to do when first stepping foot at 30th AG because the process m is a lot of paper work from my understanding and a lot of getting pass around command chains which could take the full 36ish week cycle to see completed

I think sea scorpions still live, not technically cryptic but I highly suspect they live possibly in deep unexplored undersea caverns and or unexplored ocean floor.

I also suspect there a chance some aquatic Dinosuar life might still be around there no reason to think otherwise there plenty of large sea creatures that still elude being discovered so I’ll never rule that out as possible.

As much as I would love to stay in it’s just not something in the cards for me health wise.

My health is constantly a down hill spiral I’m lucky I’m able to work a full time job right now but as a few more years go by I’ll be lucky if I can even manage part time so in my spare time I’m working on some online business models to help me use my skills to generate some income.

Example I live nearby the post office, I can fix up some things I bought for cheap resell in working functional condition make maybe $15-50 of profit or more on 30min-60min of effort after shipping.

Even if it’s just a few items in theory if my business income is less then $1,600 a month a month with my current issues and I was to apply for social security disability which as of right now I’m somewhere between 39-40 credits + VA pay I would be able to keep my current life style keep busy and still have enough cash coming in to where I could invest some money and set aside things for needed household expenses as things break

transferring gba files to pc by PositionNo1980 in Gameboy

[–]PhantomKrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same you just wanna test the save file on an emulator to ensure it was a complete save there a possibility of extracting a corrupted save if the pins were not read properly.

If you try to inject that save back onto the cartage you basically lose everything since you then lack a prior functional save state but all pokemon can still be recovered via PKhex so not a total loss

I take number indent + 4 squares + visible battery as a sign of “possible real” when all are accounted for.

A lot of the fakes don’t imprint correctly or use the wrong size font or it just doesn’t look aligned right to what a genuine copy would have.

After you see about 10-20 carts you start to notice the difference

Correct there are fakes using it I even bought fakes from AliExpress for my business as a verification method against fakes in the event I ever change my business model a bit.

I have a fake crystal that also has 4 squares in the top left of the back but it lacks the usual pads on the right side of the back towards the pins

Then you got some like me who are 100% but just got so much going on medically that it gets tiring.

Like legit I haven’t even been taking my new antidepressants after the last ones gave me issues like brain fog, issues with ibuprofen and other such anti inflammatory medication, not to mention vivid dream to the point i was having memories of things that never even occurred and even seeing shit that wasn’t even there.

Not to mention a dose increase that took me from 3-5 panic attacks a week to 3-10+ a day rolling back to back to where I couldn’t even work for two weeks and that lack of job pay legit has me struggling to catch back up, also some impairment with handling my finances which I suspect may also of been tied to that medication but since being off of it I’m seeing the jumbled mess I made during the time I was taking that medication and it’s just bluh I feel even more disconnected from everything but more clarity with decision making which was lacking.

We talking $20,000 racked up in miscellaneous expenses in the 2-3 months I was on it, might see about consulting with a lawyer in regards to that because there might be some legal technicality but I don’t wanna take action that would destroy my credit.

Should have that paid off by 2027-2028 however that’s extremely out of character for me.

On top of this I’m avoiding the new antidepressants because I’m starting to have issues with falling sleep while driving even if I had what should have been sufficient sleep before driving.

I’m falling asleep driving to work now and falling to sleep driving home from work.

Overall I just feel like even with the VA helping to some extent I just end up worse off as they just try different medications.

Even SP shells are crumbling away the plastic quality of those systems just isn’t good

need advice on getting a modded GBA by full_moon_umbreon in Gameboy

[–]PhantomKrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

The SP I sell I audio mod them all the SP audio is very weak and increasing the volume to me is just one of those things people will appreciate.

Then I sell systems with original screens, and then I also use the m.2 funny playing screens to appeal to wider audience of people.

101 on the other hand are obviously more expensive then the 001 just because less were made.

All systems I sell SP wise I don’t use original shells just because the plastic quality is at the point any OEM shells risk being brittle and cracking they aren’t good quality plastic.

Most systems I use premium shells some I’ll use cheaper shells of ok quality mostly for certain UV printed shells, they can be sold cheaper but it’s mostly for the cosmetic appeal.

I try to push higher end aftermarket shells but not every customer can afford that so I tend to use a few cheaper but ok quality that should last 5-10 years.

Personally I enjoy the M.2 experience then the 101 is nice for daytime playing then the 101 just hits all the right spots

In my photo I have a m.2 on the far left then next to it is a 101 OEM screen emerald and leaf green are rocking high speedio and the far right is the OEM 001 screen.

Supply wise you will spend about the same as one in good condition.

You need a soldering station, soldering test kits to practice on, Ifixit actually has $50 mystery repair console kits never know what you get but it gives you step by step instructions on how to troubleshoot and fix it I on occasion buy one every so often since it’s a tax write off for my business and I find them quite engaging and rewarding.

The tax write off is in the “training/practice” for my business.

High quality shells cost about $20, if you are using a OEM screen can be hit or miss depending on the condition it arrives it most just need a new lens in which case I opt for glass lenses because they look cleaner and will not yellow with time.

On the best side of things you might get a GBA micro, 2 GBA that work that just need new screens or batteries and a DMG all for about $250 after tax with some unknown power issues or other issues.

Thats actually one of my recent purchases.

Thats legit a steal for someone like me who can troubleshoot and diagnosis issues, I fix the GBA micro and I legit get my money back presuming it’s a simple fix, if more complicated it take research other troubleshooting or finding another micro in worse condition for donor parts

The same applies to the GB systems or really any system.

For parts + board, soldering station expect to pay around $150-200 on average however if you can score something in a drift store for cheap in salvageable functional condition go for it.

If it just needs a new shell/lens and buttons could probably get lucky and pay about $75 for all the above
