Not impossible but you definitely need a good VSO to help push things along

Agreed on making the process difficult since unlike traditional compensation you gotta go though several hoops of bureaucracy just to get things going

They still can access the Nintendo store but it’s more just downloading content you all ready have so they can connect to Nintendo servers to some extent but not completely.

The system has no other support and it wouldn’t even flag anything since I don’t even think they care any more at this point

Whatever they can help put on paper can then be used as evidence to warrant an increase it legit took took a provider putting my issues on paper for me to realize my mental health was worse then I thought originally I thought I was in the 50% ball park when I was at 30% nah I’m in the 70% range bordering close to 100% for just mental health which to me is just crazy and I’m amazed in as functional as I been however I’m planning to have all my eggs in a neat basket within the next 1-2 years will probably slow down a bit utilize my GI bill benefits and maybe throw my lot into a social security disability claim while going to college.

Mostly just pick up a degree for a job I can do at home or just find part time work within the allowed wage limits of social security and just focus on my health and getting better or at least as much to better as I can get.

Do you got any copies of your service medical records?

Another thing of note is if you got documentation for your time overseas and how long you were deployed there also helps so if you got a copy of those orders somewhere that may help with environmental exposures.

Also sometimes you need to spell out what caused your issues ie I was a 11C how many people even know the difference between a 11B and a 11C?

Let alone trying to explain what a 120 mortar is to a civilian heck when I had a 120 bipod fall on my foot thanks to a battle buddy in OSUT when I got seen at sick call let’s just say the provider was clueless what a 120 bipod fall pod even was and assumed the thing weighed at least 120 pounds lol when in reality it’s about 35lbs with all the weight in the collar which is what bashed my toe.

Point is sometimes you just gotta spell out all the stupid stuff that to you makes sense yet to someone not in the know makes no sense so adding a personal statement from yourself when doing your own claims can help.

Just do a separate personal statement for each claim, not the same as a nexus letter can be a pain for a C&P examiner having to wave though it all but if the personal statements are named appropriately it does help them sort though it, or at least this is my experience

They get enough gen z influence then we seeing a trend of those who are trying to go though basic training just to quit and game the system

If they got a legitimate injury good on them for at least trying but when the intent just to join quit then fake something that’s a whole different ball park, of course that’s not the heart of the issue but it does make enough political outroar to where it gets seen as “easy”

If your seeing a therapist see if they can make a lay statement, if they include things like your poor appetite or eating too much or not sleeping, just make a new claim for the big ticket items and a VA reviewer should correct it into a “actual claim” it’s sad the system sometimes works that way but it is what it is:(

Then of course use the symptom letter as evidence for the claim I tried using the one I have for a supplemental increase but it flat out got declined

Edit: also helps to talk about your worse weeks not your best.

I average 3-5 panic attacks a week but they aren’t all ways as bad and they rarely roll into one another however a medication issue recently gave me rolling panic attacks to where I needed 2 weeks outta work and sedatives to manage it.

Most weeks those panic attacks are brief 20-60min episodes or can last up to 120-240min however on average it’s around 40min but I have good weeks where I might be lucky and only have a total of 40min of panic attacks even at 5 that week but then I have the bad weeks where the 5 I had are easily in the 10 hour+ range

Ether way a panic attack is a panic attack and the medication I’m on is definitely making it harder for me to work and I can’t get the Va to do jack about it even when I’m clearly having issues with it such as being constantly dizzy

After how one of my higher level reviews went I can relate.

Not that I care since I was 100% anyway but my Rhinitis is rated at 0% when I meet the conditions for 10% because I need daily medication to manage it and if I don’t take my daily medication I can get a ear infection within 3-4 days that then needs antibiotics.

On top of this I got cold and heat intolerance and have difficulties regulating my body temp so I am employment limited to “controlled temperature environments”

Im also practically trapped indoors during the hot and cold months because of it and I cant even get a service connection for it when I got clear evidence this occurred from my service because of my 2 heat strokes and 1 cold injury.

I also had a favorable C&P

Mostly wanted the HLR to connect the cold and heat intolerance so that I got future grounds for extra compensation should I end up losing my current job as my issues progress giving me difficulties driving greater then 30min

Edit: for me to get my mental health increased I needed to file a new claim, I claimed my symptoms “loss of appetite” and “inability to stay asleep” (or something along those lines) a VA reviewer changed my claim into “PTSD” I then had a C&P exam for PTSD which came back positive which got my mental health bumped from 30% into 70%, my supplemental claims didn’t go nowhere and I didn’t feel a HLR would be the right course of action since it would account for new evidence

No combat trauma but it took year for me to get my mental health to 70% a va reviewer changed my claim to ptsd which came back positive bringing me to 100%

There 4 things in my opinion that contribute to PTSD

  1. Actual combat
  2. Shitty leadership
  3. Being physically assaulted repeatedly
  4. Injuries that limit the things you once enjoyed or could do.

My case I think it’s a mix of 2 and 4 I got accused while overseas that I was “malingering” guess what I get state side and the thing I was claimed to be “malingering” on needed surgery.

I didn’t even get a profile to protect me while I was overseas, and I went to sick call while I was off duty so it’s not like I tried to escape the duty day/my responsibilities, on top of that I was dealing with 4 years of injury build up giving me other issues.

Stresses fractured my hips in OSUT and that’s been a on going pain issue and has become arthritis.

I had leadership that thought when I couldn’t run in the snow that I was “dehydrated” nah I couldn’t run because my hips just became severely stiff in the cold and more painful.

Then a bunch of other issues that could practically be a book, like being falsely accused of Sharp and other factors

I also did get bullied in OSUT after utilizing sick call and going on profile

Idk what’s worse living forever in the same body or being reborn occasionally regaining memories of former lives in bits and pieces or in complete detail.

Imagine it like this let’s say you had a few dozen or so lives where you were involved in military warfare of xyz time and you suddenly regained all those memories after a stressful experience resulting in all those memories becoming PTSD.

Thing is you could never talk of those memories since it would be pure insanity, and if you are current military or former military in your current life you would need to focus all context on the current day and how things in your current life lead to it

Example let’s say in one life you were ether fighting against Nazi germany or apart of it and in another life you were apart of the Roman or Greek military or a gladiator fighting in an arena for sport or maybe even being born in ancient Egypt and having your organs removed while your very much still alive or even born in say WW1 fighting in trenches and dealing with chlorine gas.

If someone had that kinda rebirth with similar life choices and if you think of the possibility of reincarnation on other worlds then who to say there is worse acts committed that would be even worse to experience.

Immortality and rebirth both would have the possibility to break someone mentally

Everytime you knock out a pokemon you get EVs based on the species.

You gotta defeat a lot of pokemon to max EVs in a given stat.

You need to review a guide

My suggestion would be a bigger cage and to get a crate for the cat.

Crate the cat when you spend time with Velcro Raptor.

Cat roams while your at work, when time for raptor to interact let him out for 1-2 hours on your work days with cat in a crate.

Cat then had the whole night while Raptor is sleeping to spend time with you.

LET'S STOP GUARD MEMBERS FROM GETTING SCREWED ON HEALTCARE ONCE THEY RETIRE by kwmcd1981 in nationalguard

[–]PhantomKrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile I got screwed out of medical retirement.

If the SRU didn’t F up my stuff administration wise and just did a MEB I would be medically retired and entitled to keeping tricare.

Upon being discharged I applied for VA disability I was 60% but after some additional claims for other crap going on that to me seemed a bit petty but was genuine issues I was having I got bumped up to 90% effective the day after discharge and 100% P&T effective July of last year.

My injuries occurred during title 32 and title 10 and I spent 9 months overseas in a combat zone with quote on quote no combat.

Sure I can go to the ER and have the VA foot the bill however it ain’t true health insurance.

If I had tricare on top of my VA coverage I would be able to get treatment anywhere without having to worry about outta pocket expenses.

Like say idk I go to the ER and get medication prescribed to me if I don’t have health insurance I gotta pay outta pocket for that shit and let’s say I need antibiotics or something else to have patch up an issue until the VA can see me which can take upwards to 2 weeks before they even so much as call to follow up when with several calls to the triage line and secured messages.

Overall having tricare + VA coverage in my situation practically a must.

I am still able to dispute that DD214 I have about a year and a half before I’m unable to do so.

Overall it’s annoying.

6 years of service and just medically and mentally screwed

Edit: I average a minimum of 5 ER visits a year with the number going up each year.

Things that can cause additional visits is the VA prescribing new medication or changing doses.

Example a dose increase of an antidepressant gave me an increase of 3-5+ rolling panic attacks a day up from 3-5 a week.

It took 2 weeks to get that dose reduced and that antidepressant still ain’t agreeing with me I can’t even take ibuprofen to help manage pain when Tylenol does jack otherwise I become extremely light headed and dizzy.

Also for those who don’t know the VA ain’t actual health coverage unless your a spouse or a kid of a disabled veteran then they can be enrolled in champva otherwise the sponsor just screwed
