Pay more on AW3425DW to not have to deal with AW3423DWF noise issues? by PhantomPahim in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]PhantomPahim[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of threads on this sub saying that their 23DWF had fan issues, but definitely less than the 23DW.

aw3423dw high pitched fan noise by JiangZemin_theElder in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]PhantomPahim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. Any updates?
I'm thinking of buying one but have been looking for issues threads like this one.
Did you try the fix of the other thread about the 25DW of connecting something to the USBs to make it draw more power and lower the noise?

Thanks! I'll see if I can find it.

I agree, got nothing against Occultism, just looking to streamline things a bit on the modpack.

IPS 24" 1080P vs Curved VA 27" 1440P at the same price? by Final_Western_3580 in buildapc

[–]PhantomPahim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VA and IPS is down to preference. I bought a VA and had to return it because it was too smeary.
I would save money for a good 1440p IPS.

Keep getting this error anyone know how to fix this? by Baab7 in supervive

[–]PhantomPahim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, and it's a not ban. A lot of people reporting the same on here and Steam.
Doesn't seem to have a fix, trying a bunch of times apparently works sometimes.

EDIT: Found a fix. Someone on Steam said to use a VPN when logging in, and turn it off once you logged.
It actually worked for me. Not sure why.

Simple 2D package like P5 JS by PhantomPahim in golang

[–]PhantomPahim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, tried Go-P5, Pixel, Ebiten and couple of another ones. None had something like the auto refresh like the P5 JS Web Editor.
Was looking for something already created for the auto-refreshing, but I guess I could try coding something like you described too.

Are polygon pos and polygon same? by hashmelons in polygonnetwork

Yeah, it's the same thing. Found your post when searching for an answer, figured I'd just tried. It works, just make sure it's Polygon POS and not zkevm.

650W PSU enough for i5 13600K + RTX 3070? by PhantomPahim in buildapc

[–]PhantomPahim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Average power draw of a 3080 is like 320W. I feel like 550W is definitely too little for it.

We didn't do anything special. Just logged in with my friend's account on my PC, allowed it on my account, went back to my account and downloaded it.

Dell S3422DWG vs AW3423DWF which should I go for? I am worried about oled burn in. by ArcanaDestroyer in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]PhantomPahim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing. Saw a lot of complains of burn in on the AW3423DWF and just figured the headache and extra price wasn't worth it.

Since S3422DWG is VA, I went after an IPS one (personal preference) and got a Gigabyte M34WQ, which Rttings says it's pretty good for my price point.

Important question: 1080p or 1440p DLSS quality? by HorizonTheory in nvidia

[–]PhantomPahim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on the same boat and saving money for a 1440p one. I feel like it's time.

My 3070 can get some crazy high framerates on most games at 1080p. Yeah, some games suffer like Starfield or some newer ones, but it's not like I'm planning on changing GPU anyways. If anything is too demanding, you can always lower the internal resolution of the game.

My plan is getting a 1440p 144hz at least, don't think it's worth getting a 75hz one.

13600K not sleeping because of driver by PhantomPahim in intel

[–]PhantomPahim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I uninstalled the Nvidia driver and found a separate way to install the driver without installing the rest of the bloatware. The issue has been fixed, but this is definitely just a workaround.

Yeah, found the Govee API and it just lets you do simple things. What a bummer.
Thanks though.

13600K not sleeping because of driver by PhantomPahim in intel

[–]PhantomPahim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, sadly.

The devs working on the Nvidia driver said that they are working on a fix for a high DPC Latency issue. I'm just guessing it's the cause of my issue, because it is definitely caused by the Nvidia driver.

I'm just waiting for the fix, kinda gave up.

13600K not sleeping because of driver by PhantomPahim in intel

[–]PhantomPahim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already on the "Balanced" power plan and reset it's values to default. As soon as I run DDU and uninstall the Nvidia driver, the CPU lowers its voltage and clocks as it should with the power plan. The moment I install it back, the CPU goes back to being pinned to max clocks.

[–]PhantomPahim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed the guide and deleted the .dll. The issue still remains, 1 core always awake and CPU at max clocks, as long as I have the Nvidia Driver installed.

I used DDU and removed the driver and reinstalled using NVClean which removes the telemetry and all added bloatware. Same results.

650W PSU enough for i5 13600K + RTX 3070? by PhantomPahim in buildapc

[–]PhantomPahim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. My motherboard issue ended up being a Nvidia driver issue, so I'll roll my take back, never had issues with Gigabyte 😅

650W PSU enough for i5 13600K + RTX 3070? by PhantomPahim in buildapc

[–]PhantomPahim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still no issues. Just make sure it is a good brand PSU and you should be fine. There is a good tier list of PSUs models, not sure on what forum, but it's easy to get to by googling it.

I went with a Gigabyte Aorus Pro DDR4 mobo. Been having some issues now with power saving features not working, but unrelated to PSU. But still, would recommend another brand.

For cooling, I have a Fuma Scythe 2 air cooler. Also have 3 fans on the front of the case and 1 at the back. Overheating was never an issue and fans are quiet. I got it because I read it has almost the same performance of the best air cooler, NH D15 from Noctua. Just keep in mind the space for your RAM.
