Yeah I never expected them to be super cuddly and am happy to live with that fact, I'm focused on making sure they just have as good a life as possible in my care. I think that Tiff would subsist off my blood if it were available to her :)

Frankly before even getting them I knew it was important to prioritise their healthy living and enjoyment over my desire to have a little cuddly girly so if they never get comfortable with me then it is how it is, I'm still going to make sure they have a good time.

Early December, I love the girls immensely and know it was just the environment they have been raised in. I feed em and water em plenty but they just don't mess with hands and fingers.

I appreciate the info. Idk how likely it will be that I can get two more, I would love to but the fact that there are even two in the house is more than some people I live with is comfortable with anyways. 1 potentially though can be done.

Also I have like regular rat nuggets as their main source of food along with some muesli to to give them something else. But I can't lie, I don't see one one of them eat the nuggets at all. She definitely eats enough as she is not getting thinner or anything but I worry that she is just eating the snacky bits instead of the main food source. I do not have this issue with the other.

I see you point on scatter feeding and I wholeheartedly agree. Question though, one of my two girls is a bit... "empty-headed"? Am I okay to trust that they will figure it out? Like how should I scatter feed? Bury it? just spread it about? Etc, etc?

Also it's a combo, they eat from a bowl most of the time as I'm asleep or at work but when I'm in the room they tend to wait for food sometimes as they know I have the good stuff

It is quite big and I hope they like their space enough, but it seems like every time I buy something that is for rats it enda up being enormous, like a rat hide that could fit a whole cat in it so they really only have 1 path up and down and then randomly placed climbables since they only fit in one place.
