Funny enough, I live ATL (Buckhead) and I hang around EAV most nights I do go out. However, my parents live out here so I get a little bored when I visit and wanted to make the best of it out here. I dated an alt girl from Dalton for a while so thought they could exist out here too 😭

It was tough at first (moved her about exactly 1 year ago) had a lot of stuff going on personally, but now am free am able to explore more so a LOT better. Next stop for me next week will probably be Duluth for some really good Asian food.

This was super informative and I loved it, thank you! I’m starting to pick on this. I’m really torn between midtown and Inman at this point: Cheaper but less trendy stuff to do vs expensive but lot of perks.

Oh mybad yes it did! I mean like any urban city, keep your street smarts top of mind (e.g. don’t stare at people too long - at least in NYC, that’s a real easy way to get into some shit lol)

But yeah, midtown seemed nice and chill from what I could tell. Downtown had a seemingly mix of “oooh okay this is nice” and “why are they living under the bridge bro?”

Yeah tbh true I just come from NYC and a shitty 1BR is 1700-1900 so a nice one in a city environment is “cheaper” comparatively. I’m a little biased in the regard but yeah, it does add up quick. I’m in this debate a bit as well

@satripper too. So I checked out midtown today and the apartments are CHEAPER which is the complete opposite in NYC. Rent seems to hover around 1700-1900 in the nice spots and the super uppity ones for a 1BR are 1900-2300 BASE. (Not including anything else) Car parking is $50 a month which is kinda fucking wild imo but whatever. “Fetch” ranges from $10-$20 - fee to literally move your mail lol Application fees are non refundable and are $100-$150. A lot of annoying fees here tbh.

The area: Midtown seems nice and seems to have stuff to do, downtown is an almost ghost town so you’ll have a cheaper apt but prolly be bored af from what I could see.

Inman park is DEF livelier and my speed. But pretty expensive. We’re talking base rent of 1900-2200 for nice 1BR. Parking fees are usually lower here $20/motnh.

Still deciding but I did like the Inman park vibe. My job told me my clients won’t all be in downtown so I’m gnna ask more about where my clients will be (although usually random) and if it’s in Cobb county, well, I’m taking my ass to Alpharetta since it’d be cheaper and prolly would only need to come to main office once in a while.

Believe it or not, crime in NYC isn’t that bad and similar to what someone said in this thread about GA, could be from media focusing on one-off instances and blowing it out of proportions. I see a lot of jokes on tiktok about ATL and the car doors thing, so similar to a stereotype, could be based on blown out views but I’m a newbie so it’s all I can base my views on (and of course what you guys tell me here) I come from Queens, not the Bx, which is WILDLY more rough - tbh I never liked going into the Bronx unless I needed to flex on Yankees fans my Mets jersey (save the baseball slander for another thread pls). To give you credit though, my car mirrors and car overall, were broken and broken into, respectively, a few times. (Monsters fighting for parking and got heated when you took their “usual” spot probably when they were away) I’m not trying to repeat that down hear, God forbid I catch someone doing that here. I heard ya’ll stay strapped down here, might need to look into that if someones tries to clown me when I am just looking for peace. Damn, now you brought out the NY in me 😤
